Just any of their works. It's all so fantastic.

Also, if you enjoy a bit of philosophy, try the Hagakure. Interesting read.

Also, if youre not as lazy as me, try Atlas Shrugged. I'm thinking of diving into that one.

Also, if you enjoy reading about dystopias, A Clockwork Orange and 1984 would be perfect.

Also, if youre like me, you'll have a friend called Hugh who plays with an etch-a-sketch in your airing cupboard.

Im just recommending famous books that you probably have read, I know that, but in case you havent, well, there you go.

A Clockwork Orange and 1984 are some of my favorite books of all time

My Favorite Book of all time is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by the legendary doctor of journalism Hunter S. Thompson

Also H.P. Lovecraft has some good Horror and weird fiction works. Just keep in mind if you sensitive to racial terms that he is a turn of the century writer and uses certain terms and stereotypes that are out dated and taboo now-a-days.

I can't really recommend Stephen King as I have only liked The Stand and The Shining and I happen to think his other stuff is really overrated.

If you like the newer Fallout games (3 and New Vegas) pick up The Road its much better then the film and kind of feels like reading a stripped down novelization of a fallout game

[Flame Shield Activate Now]
If you haven't already been forced to read it for school or something, stay far away form Catcher in the Rye which is the most overrated book I have ever read.

Edit: Also if you haven't already I would look into Comics/Graphic Novels

Edit 2 Edit Harder: I Am Legend, Ignore that piece of shit Will Smith film and read this, It is awesome.

Edit With A Vengeance: if you like a TV series like True Blood or Dexter be advised in both cases both have books that are way more fantastical which can be a good or bad thing.
Example: in the Books that True Blood is based on they have Bubba who from what I can tell is a retarded Vampire/zombie Elvis.

Live Free, Edit Hard: If you like Vampires and haven't already done so (shame on you) read Bram Stoker's Dracula and avoid like the plague the "official" squeal Dracula The Un-Dead which:
It rips off The Empire Strikes Back twist ending almost word for word

Now that I'm out of Die Hard name puns I'm done adding more.

Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. If you like it, be sure to read Deadhouse Gates, the sequel. The Chain of Dogs plotline is one of my favourite in any piece of fiction.

I've read a great book, i liked it especialy because of the way the writer gave the details on the reactions of people during conversations and the cruel humor,
I would suggest you to read Devil may Cry (not actually the game!) by sherrilyn Kenyon,
its about fictional(made up) greek mythology that usualy grabs my taste of books,
i dont know what books your'e interested in, but either way, tell me which books you liked
or what type of book, hope you read it :) and even more that you like it,

primal fear by William Diehl. just finished it...and I've seen the movie starting (my man crushes) Edward Norton and Richard Gere. Its the perfect example of what a Psycho-Thriller should be.

Any book by Joe Abercrombie would certainly be recommended, be sure you've got a strong stomache and don't mind the goodguys losing though. And not really being goodguys.

The Book Thief
I just finished reading it. It's very moving, written with a lot of care. It's set in Germany during World War II, with Death himself acting as the narrator. It's classified as Young Adult fiction only because the main character is a young girl, but the themes are deep and meaningful.

I'm getting very bored with reading girly books that are all the same... same beginning, same ending and same middle!!!

Can anyone suggest a good book that won't bore me to sleep???
If you're looking for romantic novels that break the mold, i suspect that "The Vampire Huntress," by L.A. Banks series does that. I haven't read any other romantic novels, but Vampire Huntress series is almost more of a fantasy. If you're just looking for a different Genre, then the "Attikus Kodiak" series by Greg Rucka, is a good action/mystery thriller. The "Sword of Truth" series by Terry Goodkind is an amazing fantasy, and most of the books written by Chris Crutcher are very good books, although I don't know what genre they fall into.

If your looking for some really good, if fairly low-brow horror, I recommend checking out anything by "Edward Lee". He's fairly prolific but you usually have to special order his stuff.

The foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov.

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.

All of the Ciaphas Cain books, If you get Hero of the Imperium & Defender of the Imperium you'll have all of the released books in two handy volumes.

I've heard that Dan Abnett's books are good, but I myself haven't read them yet.

I'm a big fan of The Night Angel Trilogy by Brandon Weeks.
Brent Weeks. Don't confuse the poor person when they're asking for help. =P
(I hope you can tell I'm not serious)
But I second the recommendation of The Night Angel Trilogy.

Brandon Sanderson.

Seriously, his endings rock. Especially the Mistborn Trilogy. When I finished the last page in the third book I literally sat and stared at the book for a good five minutes. It's that kind of epic. Really, though, all of his books have endings and twists that will catch you by surprise. They're not always happy, but they're always interesting.

World War Z
It's a fast read but boy-oh-boy is it a wonder.
I agree, it was a nice surprise for me, not the sort of book I expected. I'm very close to the end so I probably can't judge it fully.

The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik: Napoleonic wars - with dragons. All you need to know.
But seriously, they're amazingly well written and full of well-built characters. Read it!

Also, I recently disccovered Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series, and it's awesome. I highly recommend it if you remotely like fantasy.
Also, there's like 11 of them or something, and the series is still not finished. So plenty of reading material there.
