I love RTS games. I've been married to Starcraft II for a while now, but it's an open relationship and she's giving me the green light to seek other pleasures. Previous relationships include:

Age of Empires II (We still hook up sometimes.)
Age of Empires III (That was a dark patch.)
Empire Earth (A different experience every time. Sexy as hell.)
Empire Earth III (Then puberty hit her like a truck made of trains.)
Starcraft (Something about being fucked in the ass by a Korean just feels right.)
Warcraft II (My first love. Fuck, she was ugly in retrospect.)
Warcraft III (Her "models" got "3D" if you know what I mean.)
Rise of Nations (Forgettable.)
Company of Heroes (Well. That was...interesting.)

And a number of one-night stands. I'll remember them if you mention them.

Could try the Dawn of War games. If you liked CoH (which I can't tell if you did) you'd enjoy Dawn of War II, it uses a similar mechanic but a lot more refined, and in a much more interesting setting. If not, then Dawn of War I offers straight of chaos on the battlefield without the need for the tactics II uses.

Or Supreme Commander (I'd reccomend the second), it combines masses of units with actual strategy and is very fun to play.

The Dawn of War series is excellent, as is Sins of a Solar Empire. Also, the C&C and Red Alert games are fun.

Dawn of War?

Supreme Commander's good if you want large scale, but I can't rate the online since my (legit) copy doesn't let me go online.

If you haven't yet. Pick up the "Command & Conquer: The First Decade. 12 games for $20. Sure you might not like them all. But you are bound to like one of the games past or present in there.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World

This was a really fun RTS game. The story missions were done quite well. It was hard at times, but always fair.

I'd say Dawn of War and Company of Heroes but they're already been mentioned a couple times.

World In Conflict is a real gem that uses a unique resource mechanic and has a great (but short) campaign for an RTS.

CoH was a pretty different experience. There was very little macro focus, which is usually what I excel at, so it was really entertaining to learn how to play. I just didn't feel myself that challenged once I got the hang of it.

Nothing but goldies with oldies:
> Warzone 2100, bonus of this is it's so old it's open source! But that does leave a lot to be desired for the visual side of things, you may want a paper bag or something...

> Haegemonia: Legions of Iron, my life partner of RTS games, space based, excellent story, stunning visuals, good gameplay, and massive space ships, what more can you want.

> Age of Mythology, she's more like Age 2 than 3 so you two should get along.

Check them out if you already haven't already

EDIT:

Total Annihilation & it's "spiritual successor" Supreme Commander are both really good too, TA has a massive modding community almost (or maybe more than....I'm not sure) doubling the original amount of buildable units (you know what, it's probably more than). Although I didn't get along so well with Supreme Commander, the SC2 demo was good enough that I almost brought it until I needed more important things like electricity and food....

I recommend Total Annihilation. It's fourteen years old, but it has unit limit of ten thousand a side and is just pretty damn awesome. You can get it at GOG for about six dollars.

The Total War sisters are nice girls. They're a little complex than their friends, so I think that you'll find your experiences to be a little more in depth. They quite like their quiet time with settlement management and negotiations, but they love to get down and dirty with battles - and I think you'll find them to be some of the best you've had.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm. Excellent game. And you can get it with only 6,99? from steam.

How was Age of empires 3? My computer was shit of the time and I didn't understand computers and their specs that well(or at all). So I had very choppy frame rates and just stopped playing.

Can't really suggest anything because I'm not a PC gamer...

Not much of a fan of RTSes, but I did enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire, as others have suggested.

I really like the scale you can set the battles for; you can make the map truly massive.

What? That was all macro. The entire thing was your overarching strategy and very little thought was needed to be given to the micro, unlike games like SC2.

Wow. Someone liked Soulstorm? I've always been under the impression that every DOW fan hated that expansion.

I do remember playing World in Conflict at one point. It reminded me of Red Dawn a little too much. I think I stopped playing because of a bug.

My brother told me to play Age of Mythology. It was better than I expected because he's usually wrong about everything he says, but it still felt slower and bulkier and dumber than Age of Empires II.

Let me tell you something about Age of Empires 3. You know how warfare in the Middle Ages was really cool because there was siege warfare, clashing steel, and castles? You know how everything post-Great War is really cool because there is technology, explosions, and airplanes? You know how everything in between is retarded because people line up in formation with muskets and take turns standing still and shooting at each other? Guess where Age of Empires 3 takes place. You MIGHT like it if you've ever wanted to oppress Native Americans.

Achron-a time travel RTS
See it to believe it.
It's not out yet, but I'm definitely looking out for it.
Take a look at http://www.achrongame.com/

I saw that a while back as well. Looked like a complete mind-fuck.

Oh, and happy first post.
