I got out of school today at noon (my school needs to get recertified) and I ended up with a lot of time on my hand sitting at home alone. I started thinking about what I could do to keep busy. I didn't want to just waste my time. I wanted to do something that'd eventually pay off. I thought about looking for a job online, but I can't get a job right now so it wouldn't make too much of a difference--at least not yet. I thought about going on stunbleupon, I can find something usefull on there every once and a while but it only takes one Cynide and Happiness comic.

So, (aside from video games) what are some productive ways I can spend my time?

Read a good book or comic perhaps....?

Write a short story if that's something that might interest you, I know I did that when I had time on my hands.

Go out on a walk and listen to some tunes. I've found this to be not only a great stress reliever, but it's also a nice to get in a good bit of exercise while you're at it. (Killing two birds with one stone, if you will.)

However, if you're looking to do stuff at home, drawing is certainly something that can easily make the hours fly when you get into it. And if drawings not your cup of tea, then seeking out an instrument to either learn or just free form on can be a worthwhile way to spend one's time! And if that's not your thing, then perhaps consider getting into a good book or even a series to help aid in those particularly slow, uneventful days? I know I've lost countless hours to some of F. Scott Fitzgerald's work in the past.

Anyway, just a few ideas. Best of luck!

Uh... define "productive." I wouldn't classify video games as productive, for instance. If getting a job is out of the question, perhaps volunteer someplace? Build bird houses for homeless birds? Join your school sports team?

For non-productive ways to spend your time, well... You're already on the internet. Get creative. Or since you're a teenager... there's always... ya know... with the hand...

you want a productive way to kill yourself?! but-

ohh wait...I see

if you ahve to ask then thats not a good sign..buut :p you could try your hand at a new skill (liek drawing or writing) or some some lego and try and build a scale model of...the normandy! (I totally want to try that one day)

or re-decorate your room, theres a website you can go too where you can an image and it divides it into single pages to amke a huge poster (googe block posters) make a whole bunch of huge posters...

or like...buy some old comics books and frame them..put then on the wall..seriously shit looks great when its framed

and screw people who get annoyed at you for banging nails in the walls....you dont bang a few nails in walls then nothign gets done (oh sure the paint came off but thats WHY Im putting sutff on the wall..to cover it up duuhh)

yeah...my room is kind of like my on-going pet project
