After several days of fidgeting and looking at every single piece of information on Skyrim, I've decided that four and a bit months is too long to wait without anything to tide me over. Can anyone recommend a good WRPG? I've already played the following (most of them to death)
Oblivion + Morrowind
Fallout 3 & New Vegas
Dragon Age; Origins & 2
Fable 2 & 3
Mass Effect and ME2
Jade Empire

I have an Xbox, PS3 and a decent laptop so any platform is acceptable, although consoles would be better

The last time I did this, it yielded Jade Empire, which is awesome (now that I think about it, I'm gonna play that at some point) so anything you can recommend would be dandy.

Daggerfall perhaps? The original Fable is also very fun if you haven't played that, Dark messiah of Might and Magic might be a good choice but it's more action with RPG elements rather than pure RPG.
The Witcher also seems to be well recommended, and there's always the good old oldies like Baldur's Gate or Arcanum.

Deus Ex: HR is out in August which is what I'm counting on to hold me over for RPG goodness till 11.11.11. Dead Island is also out August in case you fancy your RPGs Zombie flavoured.

If your can't wait for them have you thought about Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (a bit rougth around the edges) and KOTOR?

What about Two Worlds 2? I heard it's much much better than the first. While I haven't played it myself, have a look at some reviews.

Or try the original Fable? Thought if you have played the other 2, I'm struggling to see what you'll get out of it, apart from the story.

While I haven't played it myself, I have it on good authority that Two Worlds II isn't all bad.

What you could do is go trough some simple and cheap Steam games. Mount & Blade is a RPG-ish game that one can pound loads of hours into without it getting tired which makes it enjoyment per hour cost much more efficient then those girlfriends that you could spend money on.

Well, you would get a game that's good for one, which is suprising condidering that we are talking about a game franchise that was worse treated than Josef Fritzl's daughter.

Mount and Blade/Mount and Blade: Warband would be a good game to last you a while, it has loads of ways of playing and great replay value.

KotOR also a great game if you haven't played that.

Dungeon Siege III is also pretty fun.

The Witcher. I haven't played the 2nd one yet but that also looks incredible.

I tried to play Daggerfall, but I'm such a technophobe that I couldn't get the DOSbox emulator thing to work.

How would I go about getting it playable?

The Witcher 2, obviously.

If your laptop can run it, that is.
Alas, it cannot.

KoToR, assassins creed games, dungeon siege, diablo (is three out yet? haven't been keeping track) original fable, which was the best, if you haven't played it, The Darkness had some RPG qualities but i'm more recommending it just cause it rules, prototype, Devil May Cry, maye Dante's Inferno, though i wasn't a big fan myself, Arkham Asylum, Alan Wake, do not play two world two. i cannot stress enough how little you should play that game. risen's pretty good, if you can get past the graphics, Metro 2033 has some RPG elements, kinda fallout-ey, if fallout had a fucked up older brother with a (more)morbid sense of humor it would be metro, Darksiders, Rise of the Argonauts, maybe Call of Juarez 1 and 2 just because they're damn good. not really sure if you mind if the games are a little more shooter/action than RPG, but those are my personal favorites

Suggest looking at a game called "Risen."

It's by Piranha Bytes, which means it is fully grounded in their unique brand of difficulty/world-building. If you've played anything else they've made, you probably know whether or not you'll like it; if not, give it a shot. See how it is. At the very least it will be an enjoyable 20-30 hours.

EDIT: And go for PC if at all possible. The difference between the platforms is night and day.

to me, two world 2 was way too cheesy(ha), and the graphics still suck. it looks like an early xbox game, and the controls are kind of crappy

RPG fan? I recommend the One-Button RPG [http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/522475]!

OK, it's not exactly Morrowind, but it's a funny parody of the genre and could keep you busy for a few minutes.

It just seemed to work for me, not sure how I did it, sorry.
I think on the official website there's a file or something that you can download that makes it launch perfectly, but don't quote me on that.
