Red Dwarf.
You like quirky sci-fi, you should love Red Dwarf.
Look a couple of clips up on Youtube first.

Oh, my God... Someone else remembers this show!?

Anyway, I recommend Arrested Development. As well as my all-time favorite:

Go for Supernatural. It's one of the only TV series I love.

Current television addictions:
Castle
Lie To Me
True Blood
Dexter

Old Sci Fi...Space: Above and Beyond. (Only had one season, but damn it was good!)
Also...TOTALLY worth getting into Battlestar Galactica...

I've watched all the episodes of 'persons unknown' till now. Must say that it keeps me fascinated up till now, more than I can say of most series I've seen.

Breaking Bad. It isn't sci-fi like Firefly and its pitch dark, but god damn that is a good show.

Deadwood, no jokes there you gotta watch it. It's a good portrayal of western life.

Breaking Bad is currently the best show on television.

I'd also recommend (based on you liking Firefly) Futurama, Stargate SG-1 (canceled, but there are 10 seasons to watch) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

and ofcourse Arrested Development because it is the funniest show to have ever aired. Again, it was canceled after 3 seasons, but you should go buy those DVDs, watch them, and cherish them. And you will do this now.

Burn Notice, Castle (Nathan Fillion FTW), Dexter, FlashForward, House, Leverage, Lie To Me, Doctor Who, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, The IT Crowd, Man vs Wild(Bear Grylls is insane), Penn&Teller: Bullshit! and Sons of Anarchy.

And now the animted stuff: Archer, Avatar: The Last Airbender(superior to the movie in every way, first season kind of for kids the rest are made of awesome), Batman: The Brave and The Bold, The Boondocks, Futurama, Metalocalypse(it's a BRUTAL show), Robot Chicken, Titan Maximum, Ugly Americans and The Venture Bros.

Scrubs and how I met your mother a billion times.
Plus toward the end of the 3 season Elliot (from Scrubs) becomes a permanent part of Ted's life in How I Met Your Mother.
Maybe it's just me but I love Elliot in Scrubs.

Doctor Who.

Do it.
New writers are terrible, I only recommend it to hard core fans.
I like starting with the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) to catch the new flavour, then going back and watching the old school 60's ones with the 2nd Doctor and going forth from there.

Yes, Russell Davies MADE Doctor Who's new era. The Matt Smith writers need to go back and WATCH old school Who and get it right.

Seriously, am I the only one that thinks the solution to all the universe's problems is to throw River Song into the Void NEVER to be heard from again?

Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Chuck, and Last Comic Standing are all good, but we need more preferences.

Well a lot of these shows are awesome. But since it's the summer and most shows are on reruns I would suggest something that is fairly new, so you don't have to spend a ton of times catching up.

The marketing company I work for recently picked up the campaign for Memphis Beat which is a cop show set in Memphis TN. For me I was anticipating this since Jason Lee is the main star, and I am a fan of his work, but until I saw it I didn't know what to expect, but it really is a good show, especially if you like good drama and a good Bluesy soundtrack.

And you don't have to play a lot of catch up games like I mentioned,(the show debuted a couple of weeks ago, so 2 eps tops).

Here's the site for those eps and show info: Memphis Beat - TNT [http://www.tnt.tv/series/memphisbeat/]

If you like comedy, try watching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Comedy Central is currently airing re-runs of the entire series on Mondays.
