Hey fellow escapists! I'm looking for a good Massive Multilayer Online Role Playing Game That has a wide variety of beast races and character customization. Any free MMO would be grateful or if there's any others you could mention go ahead. And I hate WoW so that rules it out of the question.

Sorry for my bad English.

umm, I was addicted to Conquer online. Its a very grind orientated RPG. I was mainly into it because i made some pretty good friends in it. You could give it a go, it's one of those you either hate or love it!

No you don't. You think you do, but you do not. Try a more productive hobby, like building models, if you have so much time on your hands that other video games can't fill it all.

Perfect World. Free and fun and to top it all off, the character customization is so extensive it's almost ridiculous

This.

And why describe World of Warcraft, then say not to choose that one because you hate it?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but WoW is basically the framework of an MMO. Why would you think any others would be somehow infinitely better? Makes no sense.

Give WoW another look with Cataclysm. Everyone plays it, so you'll have some company. It also features the most variety in beast or non-human races.

Final Fantasy 14 if you like that classic Japanese charm, but it's bugged to hell and a little disappointing right now.

City of Heroes if you value style over all else. Flashy effects and heroic feeling skills. And capes! Check out Champions online for a similar, but more in depth RPG experience.

Lord of the Rings is pretty, and has some good gameplay to it. Community is pretty nice too. Make sure you like elves though. It's free too!

Guild Wars if you're want a truly unique MMO. Great storyline, incredibly in depth skill system, and awesome customiseability on all aspects of your character. End game is truly awesome right now, with the devs making new content, free of charge, to bridge the gap between GW1 and 2. No playable beast races yet, but they'll be in GW2.

It's not free, only the starter zones are free. Everything else is locked.

Really? I thought only some classes were locked, and the Mines of Moria expansion areas too. Second hand info though, my friend plays it, not I.

If you like space shooters I like Star Trek Online. It's pretty good, and not nearly as complicated as EVE.

Dofus is okay for a while.
Customization of the character is pretty limited, unless you count changing their colours because with that you can go crazy. It's a little lacking on the fuzzball-class side too, since the only fluffy class you get for free is the Ecaflip which is a cat-dude, but kinda sucks. The Pandawa's are quite fun, but you have to subscribe. Subscriptions are pretty cheap, but might not be worth the hassle.

Summary time!
Maybe not the best for what you want, but worth a look if you ask me.

I totally forgot about that game, is it any good? Eve was way to complicated for me.

I really like it. It gets really repetitive after a while, but playing short segments over time is fun. Plus you can sort of customize your own ships.

I loathe Star Trek Online with a passion.
It's repetative as hell, and it felt like most the missions where about orbiting a planet and shooting down other spaceships.

It's got Leonard Nimoy though...
