MGS2
Timesplitters (tho allegedly the second one's better)
GT4 ... not 3. Though if you've got/are getting GT5 for the PS3, stick with that.
SSX series. Tricky's quite good, though I'm still all about the Untracked stage.
Plus Buzz, DDR, Guitar Hero and the like.
(neeeh my minds gone blank!)

And any favourite old PS1 games you may have, in better resolution/with faster loading.
Oh and my bruv who I inherited it from is quite enamoured of ZOE and Shadow of the Colossus/God of War, though I never quite "got" the former and haven't had chance to try the latter two.

I really need to get the original Xbox version (since I use that exclusively for my console gaming nowadays...)

Shadow Of Destiny

Everyone should at some time experience the awesomeness that is Shadow of Destiny. Look up this game, and if you are even the slightest bit interested, find a copy of this game. For anyone that like games with good stories, this game is a must play. The game has 5 completely different main endings that dramatically change the story and each ending is probably 20+ minutes long.

I've found the Persona series to be very addictive, and if you have a wacky sense of humor and tolerance for grinding, I'd also recommend Disgaea. Other than that, I'm not too familiar with the PS2 library, but I have heard great things about God of War and Shadow of the Collossus.

The only game type the PS2 has that won't seem seriously dated are RPGs - Persona 3 FES, Xenosaga, .hack, Final Fantasy X, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath. You might hit certain other story focused games like Fatal Frame that also still work fine, but even if GT3 was a great game when the PS2 was current, it's pointless to go for when you have GT5 around the corner. The same can be said for GTA3, and any number of other PS2 hits.
