Lol, sorry for the caps, but I really need help.

It has been a little while since i have downloaded anything new onto my ipod, and today I decided to do so. I downloaded close to 15 songs off of Frostwire, put them into iTunes, and then i plugged in my ipod. Here is where the trouble begins. When I plug in my ipod, all that happens is my Laptop beeps three times... I have restarted both my ipod and laptop, but to no avail. I Googled possible remedies and the could not find my problem. The closest I found said to take it to an apple store, but i'm pretty sure i'm way out of warranty, I got it for christmas 3 years ago...

Can anyone help me??

I have a 16gb ipod touch if it makes any difference.

Also, my ipod does NOT say it is connected, so the battery icon does not appear as charging.

*** IT IS NOT A CABLE PROBLEM, I HAVE NOW TRIED 3 DIFFERENT CABLES ***

Bad Connection? Does it connect to stereos and the like? If it does, the problem lies with your computer, or the connecting wire. Since your computer beeps Id rule that one out, but try a different cable first. If that doesnt work I would re-install iTunes, back up your library first. If all that doesnt work, well, Im out of ideas. Calling Mac or whoever it is that makes the damn things would be a good idea.

I have an ihome and i was literally listening to it while downloading my new music. I will try the cable idea just incase. The only thing that keeps me from reinstalling itunes is the fact that my comp doesn't even say theres something connected

So then the problem is most likely the cable or the USB port, try a different port if the cable fails again. Ive got a somewhat broken port on my computer, it only works half the time.
The problem here is the connection, I dont think its the iPod since it plays on your iHome, but even so there is a slim chance that the problem may be a broken connection in your iPod.

I'm going to say the best help is to buy a different MP3 player. But on a semi serious note I'm gonna have to say that if that frostwire doo-dah is illegal (or semi-legal, depending on your views) then that my be the problem. Other than that I guess you could browse the i-tunes help menu, e-mail apple or go on the official forums or whatever they have and see if anyone else has had your problems.

I'm being deadly serious, frostwire... P2P, seriously, do you care that musicians actually WORK to make these songs? Have you tried... oh, I don't know, CONTACTING apple? I contact the support line if something I have breaks.

Ok, tried a new cord and and all 4 ports, but no help, still the three beeps.

I know Frostwire is illegal, but idc. If millions of people can listen to a song on the radio for free then y cant they download it too? I dont believe Viacom had any right to sue Youtube, it was a freaking tv show, billions of people get to see it anyway.

Would u happen to have Steve Jobs' number?

Possible computer and/or software problem? Maybe the output/input port on the iPod is broken?

If your iPod's frozen or something, I know there's a couple of buttons you hold and it resets it. But other than that, iPod and iTunes are riddled with unfixable annoyances.

The first problem is that you bought an iPod. Immediately throw it away and purchase something that offers the same service, that has no mp3 protection requirements, and that isn't Apple. Seriously, I've had this little 4gig Sony MP3 player for close to three years now and not a single problem. One friend has had close to four iPods in that same period of time.

When will people learn...

Then kindly take your question elsewhere, this doesn't belong on the Escapist.
Y not? I just saw a pic of a homemade bong posted on this site. I don't care if it was posted that they don't approve of smoking marijuana, I am not sitting here trying to get people to use Frostwire so why do you care that I use it?

the songs you downloaded could contain a virus, your ipod could also contain one. try getting a new cable and do a virus scan...
It just happened to me today, I did not get to put the new songs on there and I have not put songs on in a few months. I have plugged it into my computer within that time though and it worked fine. I have tried the new cord idea and that didn't help, I guess it is time to run a scan... If only i had some sort of anti-virus... lol
