This may not seem like a real problem for some of you, but it's becoming inconvenient and detramental to my grades. I'm waking up at 6:30 every morning and I have to stay cognitive until at least 3:00, later to do homework though. I normally end up getting alittle drowsy around time for physics (6th period).
Needless to say I need to find a way to keep myself awake. I know most of you are going to say drink coffee or an energy drink or even a 5-Hour Energy, but that's impractical and expensive.
I'd like something in like vitamin form that won't kill my kidney or liver.

So any suggestions?

Usually the best way I find to stay awake is to sleep less, that is just me though, don't know how that sort of thing effects other people.

I try to stick to ~7 hours, 5 minimum, 8 max. I think the reason why that works well for me cause my body doesn't have time to get used to being asleep for long periods of time. Making me less tired. Seems kinda silly when I type it out... Lol...

Yeah, I absolutely agree with this. It sucks at first, but when you stick to a sleeping schedule, your body adjusts and you feel pretty good all day. The only other thing I would recommend is exercise. Take care of your body and it'll take care of you kinda thing. That's what I've had to do because my body has an adverse reaction to caffeine and so I can't suck down coffee or energy drinks when I need to stay awake.

you can grab some caffeine pills or diet pills but that probably won't help. my advice is to get more sleep and maybe add some exercise. despite how opposite as it may sound some vigorous movement will kick your system into "go" mode rather then "stop" mode.

Exercise is definitely a good call. It's best in the morning, but considering how early you have to be up already, it's understandable if that's not an option.

You could take caffeine pills instead of an energy drink, but honestly I would suggest it. Caffeine abuse tends to start when pills come into the mix.

Something better might be a compound from the Racetam family. They're a little bit pricy, and sometimes hard to find, but they're perfectly legal and tend to work pretty well for keeping you focused and relaxed throughout the day.

There are people in the East who has the same time pattern as you do, worse even, and they get by just fine. Without the aid of any substance.
There's more than one way to rest your body, other than sleep.

One way of many I may add, is meditation. This is a continued practice in the Zen-Buddhism.

I suppose you are keen with the traditions of meditation; After all, sit in a comfortable position with as little upkeep of strength as possible, small breaths so forth.
But the key part is to kill off your ego. Steal away from all the stimulation you have surrounded yourself with, and remain within the domains of your mind. And even than, bring your thoughts to a halt.

Once you open your eyes, and stand tall, you ought to be refreshed. If not, you must had been impatient, and/or over-stimulated. You'll never reach rest by either of those elements.

It have helped me greatly, and hopefully could you too.

Hey, I work mornings Mon-Fri 6-3 and have night classes Mon-Fri 6-9. It is important to use your time wisely and always plan ahead. I ensure to have all of my work done on Saturdays and Sundays. I use my hour lunch break to study/review for tests/homework if possible. I ensure I can take a 30-60 minute nap between times because that helps out A LOT.

As to energy, ensure you are eating good and have good nutrition. I find taking a Multi helps because the pill has ~50mg energy supplement that helps to kick start me in the morning and gives me a little push before night classes. Occasionally I will drink a Monster if work has been hard or I have something BIG to get ready for.

I tend to hit the bed around 10pm and wake 5am. This gives me a good amount of sleep to run on. I will sleep to around 10-12 on Saturday morning because I love sleep and Sunday I wake around 6-8.

As with anything it is important to get a schedule and stick to it because your body will adjust. The other BIG thing to keep in mind motivation. If you are motivated to work and get your education done it will make things easier, even if things are slow and hard keep your goal in sight. Remember that everything you pay in will pay out far greater!

Good Luck!

If you think some sort of vitamin alone will help you, you are fooling yourself. Besides, how much do you eat, and what do you eat? Enough decent food in combination with regular excersie a couple of time per week and enough sleep is a recipe for success. What is enough is different. I need at least 8-9 hours to feel well rested and be able to perform well at work.

Having an apple really helps me. It tastes sweet and gives you some sugar, but also gives me long term awake periods.

Swallow ice cold water, it wakes me up.

Another method I use is to imagine the teacher is staring at you and is waiting for you to fall asleep so he can yell at you, keeps me awake during History.
