If you like fantasy epics, you're in luck with Rhapsody of Fire.
Actually, they are called only Rhapsody, just pointing that out :D

Sadly aside from that tidbit i dont really have any suggestions aside from what are already said or well known to begin with.
No, they are called Rhapsody of Fire nowadays. They started off as Rhapsody (and the song he used as an example was recorded when they were still called Rhapsody), but they got into a lawsuit, and were forced to change their name, and Turilli, being the....unique person he is, settled for Rhapsody of Fire. =)

OT: Try some Strapping Young Lad!

Devin Townsend is a fucking boss. If you like this, maybe you'll like his solo stuff too. Hit me up with a PM if that is the case. Cheers.

Sonata Arctica may not be the "heaviest" (Power) Metal band, but Tony Kakko is just such a tremendous vocalist.

Hammerfall is an excellent power metal band, especially some of their earlier work

If you're into more traditional metal, Dio is excellent as well.

Those are my two staples, anyhow.

Seems from the OP you quite like your Metal melodic but aggressive so I'm thinking:

Insomnium and Skeletonwitch (somebody else said these but I feel they are worth mentioning twice)
Nevermore
Euphoreon
Whispered
Equilibrium
Omnium Gatherum
Be'lakor

Disappointed no one has suggested either Turisas or Tyr yet, both of them are pretty damn good Viking Metal bands.

Or you could go for some folk metal with Korpiklaani or Finntroll. They're both similar but Korpiklaani are less serious (not that Finntroll are entirely serious) and they experiment less

4 of my favourite bands right there, and they're just some of the better-known songs by each of them.

I have no idea if these are what you're looking for (or even if all of these are strictly metal), but what the heck! Youtube ahoy!

Since I'm a lazy punk who doesn't feel like scrounging up bands from metal-archives.com, I wanted to ask anyone who knows quite a bit about metal and metal bands to send me some videos or some band names that I can look up. Right now, I'm looking to hear anything that sounds like Norther, Red Fang, Dark Tranquility, or Devildriver. If you have any other suggestions, that'd be cool too, so long as they're metal bands/artists and they aren't super obvious like Slayer, Dethklok, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, etc.
Stoner:

The Sword [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2SCIoq0VX4] (also heavy metal)

Symphonic Black:

Just send me a PM if you want more, this is only a small portion of my suggestions. :p
Well you definitely gave me some new stoner metal bands to listen to. XD The rest I kinda knew (including The Sword), but they're all great suggestions, man! Rock on, dude! \m/

I'm not sure what you're particularly looking for, but you seem melodically inclined, so here's some rather melo-black metal from one of my favourite bands who are...somewhat obscure I suppose:

(fair warning, the production on this one is pretty raw >:3)

Also, Woe of Tyrants are a good one for Melo-Death to check out and if you're feeling adventurous perhaps give the slightly metal-core-ish Mutiny Within a go:

I sense a disturbing lack of Electric Wizard in this thread. I must post to appease him.
