Perhaps I should just state the games I have...
[li]Fable 2[/li]
[li]FarCry 2[/li]
[li]SW: TFL[/li]
[li]Halo 3[/li]
[li]CoD4[/li]
[li]The Orange Box[/li]
[li]AC:FA[/li]
[li]AC4[/li]
[li]Bioshock[/li]
[li]DMC4[/li]
[li]Soul Calibur IV[/li]
[li]Mass Effect[/li]
[li]GTA IV[/li]
[li]Tiger Woods 08[/li]
[li]Assassin's Creed[/li]

And the games I'm asking for already:
[li]Left 4 Dead[/li]
[li]Rock Band 2[/li]

Games I'm now considering:
[li]Dead Space[/li]
[li]Mirror's Edge[/li]

Games I'm not interested in but get the feeling from the lot of you I should be:
[li]Fallout 3 (not a fan of Oblivion, but seems like that shouldn't matter)[/li]
[li]Gears of War 2(didn't like GoW1, not convinced I'll like GoW20[/li]
[li]CoD: WaW (I've heard negative things, that and I'm not really into World War II games, nor Nazi zombies...)[/li]

So yeah...erm...what else have I not considered?

Seeing as it took me a good ten minutes to figure out what that stood for...No I'm not one to pay every month to play.

I wish you said more about what game genres you want. I really liked if you have a 360 you get some Microsoft Points. Other than that i just don't know.

Dually noted. I like platformers and action rpgs mostly. I enjoy a good FPS and anything with a well done multiplayer aspect, be it split screen or matchmaking. I'm not a fan of racing games, or grinding rpgs, and really can't get into a sports game.

I'm going to put this in the OP...I'm not trying to be negative and shoot everyone's suggestions down, I'm simply looking for that hidden gem I hadn't thought of

I really DON'T suggest CoD: World At Wat... You have CoD4 stick with it. Honestly from the sound of things you should focus on hardware this fine year.

Sonic Unleashed looks good (I know, Surprising)
He'd have to really know what he was getting into before he got it. From what I've seen, the whole "werehog" idea, at best, hasn't gone as planned. At worst, it made the poor fellow more of a gaming "punch-line" than he already was.

Games others haven't mentioned
I don't think anyone has mentioned EndWar yet; it looked pretty interesting to me. You didn't mention strategy games as either a like or dislike, just throwing that out there. The Last Remnant is supposed to be pretty good if you're up for an action JRPG. If you enjoyed GTAIV, there's always Saints Row 2. I'd try the Tomb Raider: Underworld demo too, and see if you like that. If you're a ***** for chronology like me, though, you'll want to pick up Legend first, since Underworld is a direct sequel.

Games others have mentioned
I also second (or third, or whatever) the nominations for Mirror's Edge and Dead Space; both excellent games in their respective genres (even if Mirror's Edge belongs to like three genres at once). If you need a selling point other than genre, here's one: Mirror's Edge is perplexingly short, but the gameplay is unlike anything you've ever experienced before, whereas Dead Space, while arguably somewhat formulaic, is going to give you a lot more time out of the single-player campaign. I'd recommend trying the Mirror's Edge demo.

Indie games that you really need to get at some point anyway
Definitely do pick up Castle Crashers and Braid sometime, because they are awesome. The same goes for Audiosurf and World of Goo on PC.

OK, I think I'm done now.
