Anyways, I remember someone saying to me that all the greatest music of today is in the past, which is pretty damn true.
Try 90's stuff in particular, which to me was the golden age of music.

As of late I'd recommended Agalloch, The Tallest Man on Earth, Weather Report (and/or Jaco Pastorious), Morcheeba, Velvet Underground and Isis.

If I had to narrow it down, Frank Zappa and Jizue would probably be the best things I could recommended.

I would have mentioned LTE, but I think they aren't as accessible as the others, especially if you're not familiar with DT at all. Still love 'em though
