Ever get the times when you're going through your music, thinking of what to listen to, and nothing will scratch that musical itch you have?
I get that sometimes, but I can usually satisfy it if I look around a bit more.
But today I can't =|

What are some good electronic/trance artists out there?
I am more interested in albums and artists, than individual songs.
Here is my "trance" playlist: Parov Stelar, Skrillex, She, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, ATB, Armin Van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, and a bunch of small time artists from a friend's radio station that he works at.

I like almost all kinds of electronic music, everything from house, to trance, to dubstep, etc.
I like good music, and electronic has a lot of interesting good music, so I am open to almost anything =)
Please include an example of any artists you mention.

Look up Alstroemeria Records. It's mainly the work of Masayoshi Minoshima, but often Syrufit, Tsukasa, and REDALiCE contribute a track or remix here and there. Alstroemeria has its hits and misses, but for the most part, it's pretty awesome. I'd recommend starting with either the album Plastik World [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRUoiYDz3C0&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL6051D37ADEF3DCA7] or Haunted Dancehall [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc8xkA7R6qI], but Alstroemeria's biggest hit - their One More Time or Ghosts 'n' Stuff - is Bad Apple [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksY3LvYhp6c], popularized by a fan made video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5CFu5rOvGs] featuring shadow art of Touhou characters (most Alstroemeria tracks are loosely based on tracks from the Touhou series of bullet hell shooters).

Since their albums are only available in Japan, you've also got a good excuse to just download them, so there's nothing to loose in just checking it out.

Try Radiohead's electronic stuff, it's surreal to a crazy degree, but give it time and you'll love it.

There's a swedish indie artist on Youtube called Syrsa. He makes some pretty good music, and it ties in to a story he's come up with.

This days i am listening to:

Con Truise, a jewel, recommended by this amazing girl i know, Daft Punk like, sometimes like the ambient work of Moby.

Danny Dior, a friend's BF, nice guy, solid skills, underrated sadly for being non mainstream

If you want something more high energy, how about Bastard Pop Terrorist or High Contrast?

BTW, i would love to hear your input on my recommendations OP.

I can't say much on trance, but as far as Electronic goes, I'd recommend VNV Nation. Some songs are slower, more emotional deals. Some are faster, with more energy. It's about a 50/50 split. They've all got a meaning though, so that's nice.

Interesting electronic music? Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis would like to have a word with you, as would Tangerine Dream pre-1990.

Currently listening to Ripple - Alstroemeria on Grooveshark, haven't gotten around to the other artists that others have referred, but they are in the que :D
I am loving everything I have heard from Alstroemeria though, it is good!

A band called 1200 Micrograms is interesting and so is a group called Infernal Droid. New Age Hippies are good. Shpongle is another one. No, I am not naive about the type of person who stereotypically listens to this music.

If you want something a little more club sounding Scooter is hard to go wrong with. Pendulum I have heard good things about but never really listened to other than the ABC theme remix.

I like the sound of Ratatat. It's a mix of electronic and rock, but it's very catchy and there's no lyrics (I personally do not like lyrics in songs, so this is perfect).
They have a very distinctive sound image, I hope you'll like it. I've recommended this group to a lot of people who wanted some new electronic music, they've liked it a lot.

EDIT: Oh, and of course, Röyksopp. It's the Creme de la Creme of scandinavian electronica.
