hello escapists, as you already know, i need some Steam friends. i play somewhat frequently, and i own a large list of Steam Games including:

Team Fortress 2
The Wonderful End of the World
World of Goo
Heroes of Might and Magic 5
Counter-Strike
Frozen Synapse
Portal
Half Life Collection
Beat Hazard
Audiosurf
Champions Online
and the 4 other Free To Play Games.
and more.

to a cool enough person, I've also got a copy of Frozen Synapse and Half Life 2.

and an add on here would be nice too... haha. seriously, how do you make friends on here. in life, i'm out there, social butterfly style, but on here, i dunno, i post interesting thoughts, intelligent responses, even a fanfic that people were loving, but no friends. it gets lonely round these parts.

Steam can be like that. A big thing you can do is spend time in the game overlay. You know press this button to open steam while in the game. Then hang out in the chat rooms for the games you like, or from time to time. Look for the nice gamers or folks you have something in common with an friend them, ignore the others.

You can also buy some of the co-op games like Dead Rising 2, there's a lot of games that center around co-op play which is great. DR2 for example is hosted by GFWL so you get automatic voice controls in the game so you end up with a couple of gamers talking an smashing zombies.

You could also try Brink it's pretty much just TF2. So they say. I never played TF2 but I had a blast with Brink an will probably end up going back for more. I liked the mechanics of it. The Engine is pretty old, but it's a great engine to play shooters on. The Brink part of Brink is pretty difficiult too.

SWTOR- Star Wars The Old Republic might launch pretty soon. It will be an epic MMO even if it's an aweful game, which is a great way to make gamer buddies. Though it's more like prison buddies if you have ever played a MMO before (zomg lawlz yeah) Which is beside the point, because it hasn't even launched yet. But that hasn't stopped the millions of geeks flopping around on the SWTOR forums for the last 2 years.

You should add that you're from america, in case anyone from europe wants to play and it becomes a problem. And for getting friends on steam, I suggest just playing around online until people start adding you.

Brink is much closer to Splash Damage's previous Enemy Territory games than TF2. Like, loads.

Way back when let 4 dead came out, I stupidly friend requested a large portion of people i had played with during one session. Do you know how many friends i had after that? Don't do that! You might end up with too many.

[sub] [sub] If we play some Team Fortress 2, can I have Frozen Synapse, please. [/sub] [/sub]

I mean, it would be great for some more friendly co-op/multiplayer action.

I'm getting Frozen Synapse soon, and from what I've heard it's sometimes hard to get a game.

My Steams in my profile if you can wait for a game, other than that I'm currently addicted to the free spiral knights game.

Edit: Also best way to make friends here is by being active in user groups. (Or play games with the people)
