I've been looking over my games collection and thinking to myself and I realised that despite the Fact I have a pretty decent games collection, a pretty decent internet connection and I'd love to play agains human opponents, yet I never have.
Sure I've been on live and PSN a little but despite the fact I have a large number of games on the PC that are built for multiplayer I never have.
Don't get me wrong, I'll occasionally LAN up with my two mates and have a few rounds but I've never been online, there's nothing stopping me, hell I even kind of want to but I just haven't.

Now I know I can't be the only one, do you play multiplayer online?
If not, why not?
If so what games do you play?
If not what games would you play?

As for me I'd love to play Men of War online, it's not as though anything's stopping me I just never have.

No, it's not weird.

To your questions:

I do play multiplayer.
I play because I never know who I'm going to face and it keeps the game new and varied.

Not really, although if you have some kind of desire to play it, I would find it odd that you haven't at least tried it out yet.

Yes, I play multiplayer quite a bit, I find myself enjoying multiplayer a bit more than single-player games

Whatever I feel like playing, usually Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Minecraft or Counter-Strike.

I do.

Not often, though. It's seldom the main attraction, save for my Team Fortress 2 and any Blizzard RTS runs.

See that's why I want to play online, but for some reason I've never bothered to do it, the thing is I've never made a concios desision not to but it never occours to me to actually go online with a game.
I don't know, maybe it's just the fact that it's 02:00 here and I'm sleep deprived but for some reason it's weirding me out, like living in a house for twenty years and just realising that you've never sat in that chair in the corner.

1. I know how you feel.
2. I avoid multiplayer modes because, from what I have learned from Xbox Live, assholes are very vocal and very prevalent.
3. Relatively new to Steam, and I have currently have and play Borderlands and Alien Swarm (basically, stuff with guns.
4. Still considering my choices between Bad Company 2 + Vietnam, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or F.E.A.R. collections.

OP might want to check out World of Tanks. It's free, it's online-only, and you drive around in a tank shooting up other people.

Huh, had a look and it seems interesting enough, though my preferred multi genre is RTS, at least it would be if I played onlin :p at any rate thanks for the heads up.
