Alright so yeah I know there are a lot of trolls out there dyin to tear apple a new one over the I-Pad, and until recently I was one of them.
A friend and fellow music major at the college I'm attending was using his I-pad to not only look at the score of a song, but he could also have it
played to him....alright I don't give a damn what you say that is pretty cool for a music geek and I've started my own research.

However, I would love to hear some testimonies from other I-pad wielders about the pros and cons of the I-pad. (second gen if u don't mind :3 )

I just bought mine a little while ago since I'm going into med school. It's honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. Mind you, to me, it's fun factor and usefulness depends on the apps. I'm going to med school and the amount of medical apps for consults, drug, and disease encyclopedias is pretty awesome. It's even got a CME exam question app. Honestly, I love the thing, the games are not far from the iphone ones, but still, it's perfect once you add in the tablet pen and bluetooth keyboard case.

But mind you this is all a hefty investment, you pretty much spend as much on the ipad as your do on a laptop, a relatively decent one, I think I could of bought another macbook or built a pretty decent tower for its price (3G + Wifi 32gig). But still, I don't regret it, the apps are what make it fun :) Not bad for an ereader too if you dont mind the glare and brightness as much!

All in all, I'm pleased with it, and wouldn't take it back :) If it wasn't for the great apps however, I would lol

A great alternative would of been the BB Playbook though, I like that one a lot as well, but it's a bit small for me, also some of the droid tablets arn't too bad either. The price is ok, 3G capability is what kills you on the price though!!

I love my iPad but I confess; I use it mostly like an E-reader. In that, I could probably do 90% of what I do (read electronic books) better on a cheaper Kindle.

What I do like about it is the 3G web-surfing ability. Nothing like being able to whip it out and research Google maps or find local pub reviews, etc. So I guess it's like an E-Reader+ in that aspect. :)

How durable would u say it is. I plan on buying an otter box for it but I would still like to know if I could throw it in my bag and carry it around to classes and such.
