Can we also correct your spelling? Like the fact that you used "thou," as in "Thou art using bad spelling," instead of "though," the word you probably meant to use.Evan Mott said:But now if i say something dumb or racist, people can correct me off of the escapist. Even thou I would not
Seriously though, if feel like you have to give up anonymity in order to feel like you're going to be responsible for what you say here, and to behave well, doesn't that say more about you than it does about us? There's a debate that could be had about how anonymous any of actually are here anyways, but even forgetting that, I am still the person I am here, and when I act like a dick and realize it in retrospect, I still feel bad about it. Just because I'm anonymous doesn't mean I'm not interacting with real people, and just because I can't see someone upset when I say something hurtful, doesn't mean I can't feel bad when I realize how much of an ass I was.
To paraphrase something one of my teachers used to say, real honesty is about the things you do when no one can ever find out. It's not about others holding you to a standard, it's about you holding yourself to a standard. Putting a face and a name to words won't do that.
