Great conversation here. Thanks ; )

I have all my accounts, STEAM, PSN, XBLA, all with the same name. Does that count?? Probably not, eh?

Basically, I have both of these two reasons to not use my real name. No one from the internet is going to stalk me.
??? What do you mean???

Both of my same post? I don't get it.
Sorry, I meant to quote another post about how someone could just google their screen name to find out their real one.

Because one day I decided to stop hiding and take 100% responsibility for what I'm saying.
You're still anonymous, since I don't know, care, or want to find out who you are.
You're just some guy posting stuff on the internet, regardless what you pick as your alias.
Besides, you might just be lying as far as I know.
Exactly
Fixed it for you :p

When are the moderators going to update the rules to hinder people from using this damn pony meme to derail threads?

I don't because I don't want people I know to see some of the things I post. And I sometimes post some personal shit...

Plus I've had this username my entire internet career. Almost.

Actually, that's an interesting but mostly irrelevant story. The first site I really frequented was the MP2D forums, and because it's Metroid related and I had an inside joke with my brother about Phazon Flakes, I shortened it and became Phlakes. I made a Gmail account a while after but used the name Remskillz because I was young and stupid and my dog's name was Remy. I used that address for all my accounts after that. Then, a couple years later, I made a new one with my real name for school, so I wouldn't have to give my teachers the remskillz address. That account has the username Phlakes. Since I'm starting to do things on Youtube and I have a little bit of notability with this username, I just recently switched everything over to the Phlakes Google account, including this account's email. So yeah, that's it. It was a bit of a symbolic moment, though.

I was going to congratulate the OP on having the balls to use his real name instead of a pseudonym, but it seems he has already plenty congratulated himself... so nvm

Anyway, like many here it would be way too easy to find my real name and location if you just looked. I'm not going to make it easier by elaborating, but you can probably guess.

It wouldnt take much whether you used your real name or not to find you.

... just saying.

though it is cool that you're confident enough to not be bothered by it.

Yeah, now people can track you down and beat you up if you say something they don't like and they're too stupid to defend their positions with words. Because if you're not willing to take a punch or even get into a highly irritating verbal argument/insult exchange/battle of wits over something, you're not responsible enough to speak your mind?
Who would actually do that?
Reminds me of this video by the guys from Doraleous:

Then post a picture of yourself and your home adress every time you say something. Also offer to pay our plane tickets in case we want to come beat the shit out of you.

Because your name isn't even close to 100% responsibility.
come now

Well, you're really not. "Evan Mott" means no more to me then "XxNoobPwner69xX", ignoring the fact that, for all I know, your name is Samuel L. Jackson Sr. Oh yeah, and unless you are actually a cartoon pony, you're still hiding. Of course, that implies that if your picture was...well, YOUR picture, then you'd be more responsible for what you post here. Which you wouldn't. Because your face means no more to me then your name.

Short version: You have accomplished nothing except for wasting a bit of my time.
Yes I have
Hows that?
Because I'm wasting your time
Ah. Fair enough. Little misunderstanding there.

This is my real name. My parents were terrible people.

But when your parents are named Fanmom and Fandad you shouldn't expect them to call you anything else.
