I think the only time someone sheds internet anonymity and starts taking some responsibility for what they say is if they've stuck with one name/persona for several years - on several different boards. If people recognise you between one place and another, or can google your name and come up with fifty pages of crap that you once said, then you've got something of a reputation to answer to.

So basically, try using your real name for the next five or ten years so that you're TRULY responsible for everything you say IRL and out. Then it might be worth bragging about.

Completely pointless. I've never understood the significance people attach to using real names on the internet. For one, there's no way to verify that it's authentic in most cases. But more importantly, barring exceedingly uncommon names, most are far, far from a unique identifier.

If you accomplished anything by using your real name, it was making identity theft a tiny bit easier. Lack of any sort of unique and authenticated identifier prevents your "bravery" from really meaning anything.

Same here. It doesn't help that my first name makes me incredibly stalkable...

But Redlin has components of my real name in it and 5 is my favorite number. It feels like a real name to me.
