Since I don't visit his YouTube page or the subReddits devoted to him, I've never actually encountered the type of superfan you describe. The only mention of him I can recall ever actually seeing are from people complaining about him and fantasizing about slaughtering him and his fans. For all I know, there are more haters than fans.

Of course, his music may really be awful, but I can't be bothered to listen to any of it to find out, so I'll withhold judgment.

This also applies to Rebecca Black, by the way.

I hate hate.... ....

but yeh, his fans are annoying, his haters are twice as annoying. Especially if they're posting on youtube. Sorry those jokes stopped being funny before they started. TotalBiscuit said it best when he said "I love my haters... I adore them! Why? Because haters never seem to shut up about you! Free publicity! Sure you may get lucky and have a fan bring you up, but haters will go out of their way to make others aware of who you are and why they hate you."

I honestly would have never known justin bieber existed if it wasn't for this. Thanks haters! 8D

I dont hate bieber. I hate what he represents as a whole of the music industry. His songs are SO generic and he isnt marketed as music but as a person. What i hate is seeing people who deserve the spotlight getting it taken away from them because they are not marketable.
Hit the nail right on the head.

It was the same with Rebecca Black - people have just had enough of having mediocre artists shoved down their throats.

Hence my burning, vicious hatred of autotune, as it is what allowed this to happen.

I take it you only hate the fans and haters that whine 24/7, though.

Called it and headwrapped. I believe I share the same stance.

I don't think any rational person hates Bieber, he actually seems like a really nice guy (see his interview on the Graham Norton show for an example).

The only reason people blame him for everything that's wrong with modernn music is better it takes less effort to type "Bieber" than "Pop recording companies and the music industry as a whole".

I don't hate him either. Not worth the energy. I "nothing" him, a policy of complete indifference to his life and "works."

Every seems to say his music is "bad". I don't think people understand that music is almost entirely subjective.

Justin Beiber is popular, so many people just naturally hate him. The more popular something is, the more people seem to feel the need to let everyone know how much they hate it. See Twilight, Call of Duty etc..

I have no issue at all with justin bieber. I never hear his music so why should his fame bother me? He's never done anything to me or to insult me, so no reason to hate the damn kid. Gotta give the kid props, he must have some talent and he will disappear into a coke filled oblivion sooner than later anyway.

I never hated Justin Bieber. I don't listen to his music usually, but some of it is catchy. He is just another singer, people just seem to be jealous (and I can see why), which is why they hate him. And you know what people are like, when lots of people around them hate the same thing... they jump the bandwagon.

Some of his fans do exaggerate lots though, but that could be said about pretty much any successful musician or actor. I mean, have you ever seen a Metallica concert where all the fans are standing around peacefully just admiring the music? No. Just replace those fans with teenage girls, and yes, it does get a bit more annoying, but the concept never changes.

If I was 16 and was a singer with international recognition, and had rose to fame from youtube, and was dating/dated(?) Selena Gomez, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't care too much what adult men on the internet thought of me.

Please just watch this, it shows what his fans will do just to see him. Watch how an adult woman shoves another human being just so she can slam her fists against a limo.

/sigh dunno why the encoding isn't working.

and then i realised, i dont hate the world. i hate the worlds fans...

i personally hate all fans. i like most kinds of music but i hate all the pop fans the rap fans the heavy metal fan(i dont hate the slipknot fans because im too scared they'll fucking petrol bomb me and set my house on fire.) i like halo but i hate its fan base (same with every other generic FPS multiplayer. i like assassins creed (now) but i hate its fans (or "THAT" fan to be specific) my point is: fans are allways going to be annoying and try to preach you into joining they're ritual sacrifice of opposite fan to appease they're gods and they're allways going to hate the opposite genre and fan base.

Jealousy might be a factor here; people always hate successful people.

Personally, I hate him because his is the sum of all that is wrong with music; mass-produced, teenage-girl-aimed thoughtless garbage, with little to no artistic value, and money-grabbing cynicism in every marketing feature he's in.
Kinda agree, kinda disagree with you there. I think if he wasn't marketed as teen pop idol, he might be more respected, but then again he might have not gotten so famous.

I admire him. Not his personality or singing or anything. He's an annoying twep with a terrible voice, but he's made millions making bad music and selling it to fools. I admire him in the same way I admire the guy who came up with bottled water.
Well played sir. Well played.

I admire him because he is an incredibly talented dancer. I don't care about the voice or the girlfriends, that kid is a very highly trained dancer with natural rhythm and talent practically falling out of his ass when he takes a step. If his singing career hadn't taken off he'd be ahighly demanded back up dancer for other acts and would have ended up highly successful regardless.

The only time I really ever hear about Justin Beiber is when someone on here complains about him. I really don't give a fuck about the kid. I have heard maybe one of his songs ONE time. He is so far off of my radar. I don't even care about his fans. They don't come around me, and I don't go around them. I'm 26 after all. That'd be pretty creepy.

If you listen to the radio, you have no right to say anything at all. You are willingly listening to the whorish side of the music industry, and that's on you.
