Okay, from what i have played so far i am not very impressed.
Yeah I wasn't impressed either.... I had expected a lot more from a game with a great history behind it and in our modern time having great conversation game play especially from experiences from a game like Mass Effect 1 and 2. And the graphical animations.

...oh my god.

Basically all the conversations were like talking with a mindless and emotional-less doll with a vertical mouth moving only....

Somehow you can really feel how the whole aesthetic says "I'm an old game in new clothes and Asian story telling"...

Well, now I see why other threads have been so quiet in the 'dickhead' department. They all went here.

I only read the original post though, just ran through the butthurtness of the last seven pages. :) You do make valid points. When I first saw the "Ghost" xp bonus I was all "the hell?" so it really is just a stealth game in disguise. I'd also like to ***** about the way the world map is constructed. To get from one end of the street to the other you have to go through air-vents? Really?!

Also, does writing 'U' instead of 'You' really save that much time? Really weird reading something so well written but with U scattered all over.
no lol, its actually just a bad habit I have from playing monster hunter and texting. I also forget to capitalize my "I's" and leave out apostrophes. When i proofread my writing its not a problem; but I don't see why I should have to proofread something i post on the internet. It will ultimately have no impact on my life and I am supposedly posting here for fun lol. Its like when people are anal about eating in D&D. I'm just trying to relax and escape from the anal aspects the rest of my life has to have. I just don't want to worry about it.

Technically you don't have to proofread or speak/write with proper diction outside the internet either, regardless of how many "anal aspects" you feel your life might have. Most people make a conscious choice to articulate themselves because they don't want to sound like uneducated dolts. It's less about the tyranny of grammar and more about whether or not you want to be perceived as someone who made it out of grade school.

It's funny because everyone defending games like this says things like: "you can't expect them to get everything right" "oh my god you guys need perfect realism just go outside nub" "they only had so much time and money to make this thing." All of these are only excuses when i look at games like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, and even in some ways Bioshock. These are the kinds of games that out corners where they need to be cut and go all out in the aspects of games that need to be flawless.

2. The boss fights. Sure, stick my stealth heavy character with pretty much no armor in a small room with a massive tank who can turn invisible for unlimited amounts of time, jump over every wall, has about 50 times more health than me, has a gun that kills me in one hit, etc. I am all for challenges in games, and I love hard boss fights (the end boss of Titan Quest is an example of a boss done right, IMO) but theres a fine line between difficult and unfair. Deus Ex doesnt slip a toe across the line, it jumps over it and keeps running. Ridiculous, I cannot comprehend why the developer thought this would be a good idea. (Although, I have to mention, once I invested in Typhoon the bosses became a piece of cake).
Wanna know something funny?

So let me get this strait. You think im an idiot because of some mild misspellings, regardless of the substance i have included in my post. That's like me thinking your a child because your avatar is a puffer fish. I feel this prejudice will hurt you far more than it would hurt me. Its like adults that don't listen to what children have to say, because they think of them as intellectually "inferior." Do you remember how much that annoyed you when you were younger because you had something important someone needed to hear?

Posting your opinion and immediately assuming a game does this and that can cause quiet an upstir with people. What Liberaliter meant is that you simply posted a self made review and didn't bring up anything new, we know the rpg elements isn't all that great, we know the voice acting is slightly racist, we know the gameplay can be punishing for some people.
Be more creative then 'Hey I think this game is bad for a good reason and I'd like to state that thinking it's gonna spawn a rational conversation'
I'm not asking this of you, but think more along the lines like CViper with augs or steampunk Deus Ex or something, something more of a what if.

You know, I actually have to agree with the original poster. The characters do look like they're having muscle twitches and spasms when they talk, it is crap how knock outs gain more xp than kills and the ai is pretty bad. I'm going to go ahead and add another complaint that everyone has already made and say those boss fights suck hard too. Clearly this is a stealth game, so why do I have to fight a straight up boss battle where stealth isn't an option?

I really wanted to like this game, I loved the first one and tolerated the second. I quit playing at the beginning of Montreal, because I'm bored. I've been playing SNES for the past few days, and it's not like a hot new release has caught my attention on that platform.

Well, i wouldn't know, since i haven't played the game. But let me make something clear.
IT!
IS SPELT!
"YOU"!
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
YOU. NOT U. YES? YOU KNOW WHAT WE WANT YOU DO? THANK YOU.
It is impossible for me to take you seriously (read: not get really bloody pissed off) when you do that. Okay?
It is in fact spelled... Well, you have it right there. Its "spelled", not "spelt".
"Spelt [http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spell]" is perfectly correct usage of the English language, "u", as a word on its own, is not

I'm not really sure what to do with this.

If you don't care about how you're perceived, then don't fuss about it when someone calls you out on terrible grammar and lazy spelling. If you do care, then you might start by changing your easily changed behavior, rather than trying to make the rest of the world change to suit your risible standards for communication.

Secondly, children ARE intellectually inferior to adults. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be listened to, or that their emotions are invalid, but it does mean you're unlikely to get much in the way of rational or coherent thought on sophisticated topics from one. That's not prejudice, that's just common sense. I don't expect to get much in the way of political analysis from a cactus, either.

I'm also still not clear what, exactly, you feel was "the substance" in your post, or in this thread. You didn't like Human Revolutions. That's fine. Your reasons for disliking it were murky at best...inelegantly stated, full of exaggerations and deeply personal biases, and not terribly informative for anyone wanting insight on the game who wasn't you...but fine. That's your prerogative, right? I'm really not sure, though, why you feel the need to have this slap and tickle fight with everyone who disagrees with you, as if the possibility that you'd get disagreements in your deliberately controversial thread had never occurred to you.

I mean, really. Make an interesting or cogent argument about what you think the flaws in a game are, and valid points will remain valid points however you choose to spell them. Spout off a bunch of rambling, biased, poorly thought out drivel and pepper it with malapropisms and e-speak, and you'll sound like you got bored one afternoon and decided to troll the internet. Which, I'm 95% certain, is exactly what you were doing with this thread to begin with, and exactly why you're continuing to haunt it days later, bickering with everyone who will give you an ear.

from what i can tell you are assuming several incorrect things about me.

1) That I watch or read internet reviews to know that my opinion is unoriginal
2) That I would, for some reason, care that that I am providing a 24hour forum lurker with some form of novelty.

I posted here to get a discussion going with people that had varying viewpoints so that I could either a)feel better that I was not alone or b)have someone explain to me what i was doing wrong. I have got several constructive comments in both categories and I am happy because of it.

I have no idea what you are trying to say at the end but i think C.viper would look stupid with any real augmentation and that a steam punk Deus Ex would be awesome.

I only things I don't like about the game are the boss battles, the AI which switches from Paris Hilton levels of unintelligence to a single, Geth-like super-consciousness every two minutes. Also the game has possibly the worst tutorial mission I've ever seen in a game (not the opening level, the one with the hostages and the eyepatch terrorist guy.

Wow. Really? Holy shit. Thats.... Interesting.

Honestly, you cant blame me for not knowing that though.
Hey...I didn't know it either. My fight was like close to ten minutes....exploding magnum rounds and all (yeah, I missed plenty of times).

All right lets see . . . in no particular order:

I'm bored enough and I like to argue. I would argue that children are intellectually superior to adults in specific respects but i don't feel like getting into that. I don't know why everyone says I am attacking EVERYONE. I am not. I think its just the "matter of fact" way my writing comes out. I don't care how I am perceived unless it directly affects me. The only people I attack or troll or whatever you want to call it are the people that have nothing on topic to say to me. e.g. "your spelling sucks" "good for you. you have an opinion" "your an attention whore." The rest of my comments are just rebuttals.

1. I didn't mean that it wasn't original, I meant that you didn't bring up any new ideas in stead of pissing and moaning about the forgivable issues in the game.
2. DID YOU JUST CALL ME A----meh I'd expect as much...I'm actually pretty new to the Escapist forums, and I only look at the ones that are trending at the moment. I didn't mean that you should feed the lurkers, I just meant that you should not do what several other people have done and expect different results.
anyway I'm also happy that you got what you came for, hope you'll find a better means to an end next time...
