I swear this song was made for this kind of thing.

(Not that Voltaire's other songs aren't worth a listen, I just think this one was particularly fitting)
In general, I find music works wonders. In my case at least it probably helps that I've always been the kind of guy who makes it a point to memorize the lyrics of each song anyway. Anyways, for alternate options I can think of one or two things that help re-associate the very idea of fear with something less fearsome. Case in point:

Alternatively, try something that just feels uplifting.

And if all else fails, there's always the Nostalgia Critic's Top 11 Villain Songs list.

I dunno though, you might not find music as soothing as I do.

Find a show online that runs on being dramatically over the top. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann works fairly well for this. Watch three or four episodes.
Yes.

Also, try this: to be angry instead.

or these to laugh at.

Okay, I am a complete idiot, cause I read a lot of creepy shit today about things that I know aren't real but I still can't calm my fucking head down and get sleep. And I have to get sleep because I have school tomorrow

Anyone want to help a stupid person calm down?

Would help to know what it was that scared you, tell us. :)
I just read a bunch of urban legends about ghosts and shit. A lot of stuff put together.
I had the exact same problem when I first discovered Creepypasta a few months ago. Well the cure for me at least is to watch or listen to something that is so epic that it will make you feel epic just by listening to it. My cure consisted of copious amounts of Gurren Lagann.

Copious amounts of Ponies, Smooth Jazz, lighthearted and/or colorful video games, or stand-up comedy. If all else fails or you really need to crash in less than 15 minutes, leave the TV on, but set to Line 1 or something, so you have a soft glow that shouldn't bother you, and maybe turn the radio on to some soft music station. A lot of stations - at least where I live - put up mostly soft rock and love songs late at night, so it's all easy to listen to.

hot milk with a bit of vanilla (tastes like ice cream) but you'll be out fast. or try to stay awake as long as possible and pass out in class.

Reading something got you scared? Takes sounds to do it for me, and I have a rather annoyingly vivid imagination.

Um...the only thing I can suggest is to quite literally bore yourself to sleep. I tend to do some imaginary math problem in my head.

...Well, now I MUST sleep
Whatever you do don't turn to ponies...they keep you up FOREVER!

I would try laying down listening to some soothing music(although almost any music works for me)
Clear your mind and you should be asleep in no time.

I do this all the time, and nothing helps the wandering mind like listening to something relaxing.

I recommend finding the entire Album of Eldorado by The Electric Light Orchestra, no joke.

The first lines in the song I have memorized, and they are probably some of the most relaxing words I've ever heard when put in context.

The Dreamer, The Unwoken Fool
In dreams, no pain will kiss the brow
The love of ages fills the head
The days that linger there in pray of emptiness, of burned out dreams
The minutes, calling through the years
The Universal Dreamer rises, up above his Earthly burden
Journey to the dead of night, high on a hill in Eldorado.

Also look up peaceful songs (not soundscapes, those provoke horror that shouldn't).

Also, check out this song; it's about dreaming, it's Queen, and if you put the perfect person you want to dance/sleep with in your mind, It'd make me sleep a little easier too.

Sure, I'll help. Okay, what you need to do is sit down, close your eyes, and ponder the pointlessness of life. Examine the events that made you who you are, and realize that your entire existence can be characterized as a series of disappointments leading inevitably to your death, and that your life is merely the briefest of precursors to the infinite, empty oblivion that awaits us all after the last flicker of life leaves our eyes. Ponder the futility of trying to fill the void of meaning with ultimately worthless material wealth, and how every relationship you have, no matter how strong you think it is, is ultimately a desperate bid to share the burden of existing with another, a bid that is always doomed to failure. Let the inevitability of your fate fill your being, and embrace the futility of trying to be happy. At this point, your fear should be forgotten, superfluous in the face of the prospect of eternity.

Alternately, you could watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Oh Pinkie Pie, what hijinks are you up today?
