Oh man, too many questions!! It sucks that you had to pay that much for a new tyre. :/

I've had a crappy day, but that's normal now. I've been ill for over 2 months and the doctors don't know what's wrong, so I'm sitting here waiting for test results all the time. /whining.

I just watched TV all day >.> I feel really lazy.

At lot of people seem to get mugged here for very little money. I hope this just happens at school because anything else would be terrifing.
As I said, expensive or not depends on the point of view. When I was like 12 years old I would not even been able to grasp the amount of money. Considering the whole system in other countries comparing "bare" money values isn't very fair either. For me, I have to check how many clients I have to visit in order to get that money "back" and it's more or less okay. It's still a lot of money but I know when and how I can earn it and such repair services cost very much in our country.
I still wouldn't want to give my motorcycle back and switch to public transport. I'm too pretentious for that.

So, here are the questions for this off-topic thread if you are in the mood of sharing.

Did you had similiar experiences?
Was you day exciting in another fashion?
Does it sound like much money for such an event?
How would you react in such situations?
How should one react in such situations?
Do think Nails should be banned because they are evil?
And as the toppic suggested:
How was your day?
What country is it you live in, that spells tire as tyre? Honestly the first time I've come across that spelling.
That all really sucks due =/

I've had my day ruined because I forgot my wallet at a friend's house, which has: debit card, credit card, bus pass, student ID, and all other applicable cards. I had to carry cash around with me all day, and since I carry all my bills in my wallet, my cash was limited to change (living in Canada, I am fortunate enough to have $2 coins and $1 coins, so that wasn't a bit deal, just annoying).
I've had random days where my mom shows up and says "lets go for dinner!" and $100 later, I go home with a full belly feeling extremely satisfied.
Yeah, it really does sound like a lot of money for something so tiny =|
I'd probably get it patched or mended in a similar fashion, and try my best to carry on with the rest of my schedule.
I imagine the best reaction would be to keep cool and not let a molehill impede your life, but after taking philosophy for 4 years, I know what one should do and what one does, are usually very different.
lol, now that is over reacting. I remember one time when I was working with my dad (Carpenter), he told me about this guy he works with that went to get more nails (2 inch roofing nails I believe) that hit a bump while he was driving, and accidentally 4 10 pound boxes of nails all over the road. He also accidentally didn't clean them up because they were on the highway... I just lol'd and thought "wow that sucks"

My day has been alright, I skipped my morning ethics class because I know what is going on already, and fuck waking up at 7am. Geology class went fine, I just have to get to work on studying for midterm tomorrow, homework tomorrow afternoon, 2 projects coming up, and more studying. But my procrastination will probably see me playing MW2 or GoW3 till 3am like usual... OH WELL :D

Considering that you could buy a newborn baby in china for just about $500 it is all very meaningless.

Well, to be honest I had to look the whole tyre vs. tire up (I'm not a native speaker) because I wasn't sure how to spell it. I simply found the "tyre" version first, blame it on the dictionary.

Let's hope for your father's friend's Karma (or whatever he wants to believe in) that no one got hurt because of his wanton negligence. It's only funny if it doesn't happen to you.

Interesting that it seems to me that today this topic gets more attention than yesterday. But maybe it's just me (as today I had a much more compelling day although probably not as exciting as yesterday.)

My day went far better than expected.

I was supposed to be in a group project, but I missed the day where groups were assigned so I had no idea if I even had a group let alone who was in it. Turns out I did have a group, and they were sitting right next to me. So I went from possibly failing a giant project to having a great day and an easy A.

As far as the TIRE replacement goes, $340 for one tire is horrendous. My last 2 tires were fixed for $2 each. Of course they needed only a new valve stem. The last time I needed to buy a new full tire it cost me $85 dollars. I suppose if I had to pay them to take off/put on tires the bill might hit $120. I can't believe you didn't just do the tire change yourself, it only takes like 15 minutes and literally anyone can accomplish it.

As a native speaker, let me just say that english is the dumbest, most irritating language ever conceived. Whoever thought of their, there, they're and all the other stupid rules and spellings, deserves a tar and feathering.
What is your native tongue if not english? You "speak" it quite well despite it not being your native tongue. Aside from "tyre" and a tiny bit of sentence structure, I wouldn't have even noticed it is not your native language =P
