Probably LARP. It definitely looks like fun... for a melee class. I'm sorry, but any spell class just looks, and sounds fucking retarded.

I could LARP, but not cosplay.

Sadly, things in fiction don't look too great in real life, thoughhhh, maybe I could cosplay if it's not too hectic a costume.

IDK about LARPing, when I was younger, it looked kinda fun.

Aww I love Dungeons and Dragons. I don't see whats so wrong with it. You've got dice, you roll the dice, and make shit happens. (Yes I know thats not excactly how its played, cmon I've played it for about 16 years :p)

But anywho, I would not roleplay in real life. Not only does it look incredibly boring but as much as I don't want to admit it, I would feel like a major douche.

I slightly consider full on larping kind of too nerdy for me. Like, getting dressed up and playing out my character. I've always actually wanted to, and come very close to it...but what sounds like fun on paper ends up being wierd in real life.
You can LARP without dressing up, and most character based things involve buying new ways to hit people or gaining resistance to arrows and whatnot. You can find moderate LARPing leagues.

Nothing is too nerdy for me!
Yeah I actually found a place near Dallas that did it but I just never could quite get into it. I mean it sounded cool on paper but reciting a spell in an actual fight was somewhat lame, lol. Maybe I was just underwhelmed, thinking it'd look as awesome as it sounded, or something.

We all know that the inhabitants of the Escapist like preety much everything. Sports, Anime, Gaming, Manga, Role playing, etc. But what is that one thing wou swear you would never do just because of how ridiculously nerdy it looked?

Me, Dungeons and Dragons. I'm probably just an ignorant douche and I should actually play it, but I just can't. It just seems so lame.I probably watch to many pop culture rips on it, so my opinion is biased.

So what about you?
I somehow got the opposite effect, never got to play it and I sincerely feel I missed out. Granted I'm into roleplaying (used to TSRP and did a bit of text RP), to be honest that's one of the secrets no one will (hopefully) ever know about me IRL.

Hmm, Cosplay I guess?

I always think dudes cosplaying tends to look very silly.
Same here. Cosplaying should only be for hot chicks who put on the skimpy costumes.
Does that make me sexist? yes it does!

Your talking to a guy who (for full effect, keep in mind that I WAS about 70 pounds overweight with stretchmarks) walked around with a towel draped around his neck like a cape at a theme park, with my lil bro, claiming to be the super hero duo "Dry Man and Towel Boy" and that we were "there to keep you dry in times of wetness". At the time (I was a bit younger and a lot naive), I didn't understand why that slogan made women laugh so much.

EDIT: while I don't have the time or interest to make me participate in cosplay or LARP as a full time hobby, I would be interested in trying them out. I mean, just to check it out and see if it's a fun (and nerdy) as it looks.

Nah, it just makes you a male.

It's not sexist to delight at some cute Japanese girl dressed as Cammy but to have less enthusiasm for an overweight dude in a cardboard Gordon Freeman outfit...

Mention games in front of non-nerds.

I made that mistake once. I was greeted with a bunch of laughter and "SINCE WHEN WERE THEY PUTTING XBOXES IN KITCHENS?"
Yeah, assholes respond to girl gamers with cruelty and cynacism.
Nerds (the nice shy ones) respond to girl gamers in awe.

Frankly, I find girl gamers to be hot.
It would appear to be that I know a LOT of assholes then. Badtimesss.
I have noticed that nice nerds are always quite amazed by it, though, so that's alright.

I still don't understand the mentality that girl gamers are hot though, I'll admit.

Reading a book. While you're at it why don't you order a Inevergetlattechino with that in your local Starbucks?

LARP and/or Cosplay. Never, EVER, under any circumstances, unless my life is on the line.
I'd never, ever,ever LARP.

Cosplay though, I'd probably do for a laugh.

I doubt I'd do full on LARPing involving creating a character and dressing up and stuff (though I did watch Role Models and the LARPing in that, a major plot point, looked really really fun). However, I am interested in joining my university Assassin's Guild next year, for fun non-serious LARPing (without all the dressing up and being a fantasy character and stuff, just water guns and nerf guns and foam swords and stuff. And 'Assassin pub crawls' too, where you have to kill each other in secret places along the pub crawl ;D).

Aside from that, I don't think there's anything nerdy or geeky that I wouldn't be interested in at least trying. True story, a few of my old friends from high school, who never did anything nerdy and were pretty much some of the coolest guys around, decided to start playing D&D in our last year of Sixth Form. I never joined them, but I wouldn't mind trying. At least one of those was also one of the people who first got me into Warhammer 40k too :).

D&D is just fine, get some friends and play, not much different from a video game or a boardgame.
But as most people said LARPing is beyond me, I like my clothes just the way the are, I don't need any uncomfortable and weird looking costumes to play a game(haven't worn any costumes since I was 7 or 8 I think).

My friend, if you think any nerd activity is more nerdy than the others, you are indeed fooling yourself. All nerds are created equal, and whether you are a cosplayer, a CCG nut, or a LARPer, you are a nerd. Pride is only a facade we create to justify our own doubts.
