Hey guys, let's derail the thread and argue about whether Avatar is an anime or not.BeoW0lfe said:Alright, being a general nerd, I finally got into a couple animes. Specifically, i was on touchanime.com to watch avatar tla a while ago, and got bored.
SPOILERS: It isn't. But I digress...
Persona 4, Desert Punk, Sword Art Online, Death Note.
So this list is basically made up of things I haven't seen (Persona 4), didn't like (SAO), or both (Desert Punk)...plus Death Note.
Okay, well, the first thing you need to do is do the human race a favor and go to Crunchyroll.com and/or Funimation.com and stay there. You can find 75% of the anime you could want to watch there. Support the official release and all that. That said...not everything I am going to recommend to you can be found there. But it's the thought that counts...or something.
I would strongly recommend...
Code Geass
Gurren Lagann
Baccano! (you can watch this on Netflix or Hulu)
Darker than Black (Funimation, Hulu) (if you value your sanity, watch season one, and season one only)
Fullmetal Alchemist and/or Brotherhood (Funimation)
I would strongly recommend...but...
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Please watch this show. However, before you do, wait several months so you forget all the people telling you to watch this show. I have seen people have their experience with Madoka Magica ruined because they were pushed too hard. It's like sex that way. And in several other ways as well...
You might also try...
Fate/Zero (Crunchyroll) (I'd give it a full recommendation, but considering the ending only makes sense if you've played a crappy visual novel with no official English release (or, failing that, watched or read an LP of said visual novel), you might choose to hold off on this. Or not, because it's that good.)
Btooom! (Crunchyroll) (It's like SAO but completely different and has no ending. It's not actually better than SAO, but unlike SAO it isn't popular, which means it doesn't suck. You know how it works.)
Durarara!! (Crunchyroll) (Basically Baccano! but set in modern-day Tokyo and not quite as good)
Psycho-Pass (Funimation) (From the writer of Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero comes...this. Lightning doesn't strike three times, but it's still pretty cool.)
Remember these for later...
(Continuing with the sexual metaphors, you probably ought to be a bit more *ahem* experienced before you watch these...)
Bakemonogatari (12/15 episodes on Crunchyroll) ("Dear God, why Japan?" is in moderate to full effect)
Star Driver (Crunchyroll)
Steins;Gate (Funimation)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (The best/worst/smartest/dumbest anime ever made. It's true. The Internet said so.)
