I do want new ips sure but i think reboots are doing best this gen.

Doom reboot and hitman reboots are amazing. and soon to be Prey reboot and system shock reboot too.
The weird thing about Doom is how little the name matters. Most of the people that remember Doom fondly are too old and cynical to be hyped, and we could tell that it wouldn't play like old Doom because it properly implements the third dimension (more vertical action than most shooters actually). They could have easily given it it's own name and done just as well with it.

On one hand this is true, but on the other, renowned studios can hedge their bets fairly well based on recognition and good faith alone. It mostly boils down to consumer opinion, and if they see a familiar, well-received developer (and to lesser extent publisher) are doing something new, they are pretty damn likely to at least give it a shot based on their enjoyment of past efforts.

I honestly feel like this is one of the least applicable periods for that arguments, and just going "Of course, there are some good new IPs that haven been released. Darkest Dungeon, Nier, Nioh, Banner Saga, etc. But these IPs are outnumbered by all the crappy new IPs" really isn't an argument.
"These would refute my point except they don't because I say so"
Hell, a good deal of the ones you mention still sold or were received well as others have said.

Rainbow Six Siege. Hyped and Mediocre
Siege was not a new IP, Rainbow six has been around for two decades now.

Also, it's been a pretty huge success, player numbers for it now are actually higher than at release, something Ubisoft fails miserably at most of the time.

Anyway, since 2010 these new IPs have come out and been good, very good or successful despite their flaws.

Bloodborne
Overwatch
World Of Tanks
Titanfall
Dying Light
Day Z
Rocket League
ARK: Survival Evolved
Payday
Splatoon
Warframe
SMITE
Stardew Valley
War Thunder
Cities: Skylines

I'm sure there's plenty more, not every new IP this decade has been released and bombed. The reality is crappy games get released all the time, plenty of established franchises have sputtered their last breaths this generation, most of them owned by Electronic Arts.

There is always an aversion to perceived risk in big companies, which is ironic when blandness is often the most damaging thing to a game's sales.
