I was poking fun at how they are misleading the market. WoW pulled similar stuff and I know it isn't anything new. The "typical EA" part was a dig at the shady marketing practices employed when the game was in post production.distortedreality said:It's a typical marketing move.Savagezion said:That's a typical EA move. Really, why would anyone expect any different? They're not going to come out and say "don't buy our game because the ending isn't great".
It's genuine, you can see it on the BSN.Adam Jensen said:What a bunch of assholes. If that image is genuine then EA has absolutely no respect for their customers. Which in return means we should boycott everything they make or publish.

That's because it had the most anti-climactic, disappointing and pathetic ending in the medium's history.
An attitude like that is exactly why EA doesn't have any respect for their customers. It's also why their customers shouldn't deserve any respect.Adam Jensen said:What a bunch of assholes. Couldn't agree more. Like I've heard others say, whatever you may think about the ending and the, in my opinion hyperbolic, reaction to it, it's still nice to see a controversy this large spring up about the expectations for a game's storyline. It's a good change of pace, and I feel like this reflects that a bit.Kingjackl said:I personally think the Entertainment Weekly quote is hilarious. I love how it takes all the ridiculous controversy surrounding the game and spins it into a nice bit of positive marketing, which the game deserves a bit more of. Whoever made that poster deserves some kind of trophy.
Not to pick on you specifically, but this is a good example of the kind of reaction I'm talking about. Is it really so hard to believe that 75 people had a different opinion then you? I've seen so many people on here jump directly to discrediting the integrity of the reviewers for doing what reviewers do, and doing the same to the creators for having a different idea about how things should be done in what is first and foremost THEIR work. This is the kind of thing that makes us look immature, and the discussion about the ending would be much better off for all sides without it.Stilt said:Should read "over 75 perfect scores after coercion"

To be fair, while I highly doubt (most of) the professional reviewers are not deliberately altering their scores, any score from a site riddled with advertising for the game is suspect. Either way, EA is paying them, thus their objectivity is very much in question. It's one of the unfortunate parts of the current gaming culture. Almost nothing but games advertises on game sites, and you can't get a provably objective review without advertising for the thing being reviewed.Metalix Knightmare said:You mean claim that people keep making and never display any proof for?
In that case I would like to remind you what happened when Blizzard announced they would show people's real names on their forums.imahobbit4062 said:None of those had as big a reaction than the ending to ME3 did.Harb said:World of Warcraft. Ain't sure there are more, but this sample should be sufficient.
