Ok as you can guess this is inspired by a certain thread involving a certain game and a certain developer

but even unrelated to that I notice that on the internet, alot of the time Gamers tend to freak out over the TINY'ist bits of information or anything

I know that specualtion is....well I guess what fans do and everything

and yeah its annoying when you hear about how your favorite game might be changed in a way you dont like and hell your complaints might even be valid

but I find it silly to simply decide somthing is RUINED FOREVER over say a very very very vauge article that doesnt actually prove or say anything

and then itsnt it less painful for everyone just to wait untill the game is out?

no I gues not...I gues this is what the internet is for..

then again if think back can you remeber any cases of RUINED FOREVER that, well when the game actually game out it was actually really good?

by the way I think ME3 is going to be awsome....

I must have missed something. Everybody's freaking out over ME3? Why? I mean, besides the usual "it's a BioWare game, so people will whine about every little detail and compare it to KoToR".

EDIT: Looked up the thread, found it, got the general gist. It's... look, it's change, okay? And change will always lead to people complaining. Just shrug it off and move on. Yes, you can argue whether it's change for better or worse, but we don't really get any input on what BioWare does, so just wait and see how it turns out before judging.

Well what, game devs announce one apocalypse or another three times per week and we can't do the same doom story on games!? WTF man, F*** YOU! (it's a joke! put down the ban hammer)

Anyway, people on the internets aim for extremes, mostly because that's the only way anyone will notice the comment, and then they will go into extremes and flamewars are on... lots of fun.

Its a vocal mainority thing, the ones who ***** the loudest will be the only ones we hear.

If this is about the Mass Effect 3 getting 'tweaked' for a wider audience, I think theyre justified in complaining. EA are idiots. I wouldnt trust EA near a vase.

I see lots of people speculate so much that they forget that it's all based on rumours and they rarely have any solid facts. Like with this business with ME3 being made to 'Appeal to a Larger Audience.' [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.281876-Mass-Effect-3-being-tweaked-for-a-larger-market-EA?page=3#11042339]

Sometimes I get so damn annoyed over this. But then I remember that there's not cure for stupidity.

Personally, this just sounds like they're going to make combat that's actually playable for a change. But I guess people will complain that even the thought of a game with visceral action, tactical combat and actual gameplay sounds like a deal breaker for them because they long for the days of hiding behind cover and spamming their powers - truly that is roleplaying!

Seriously, I like Mass Effect and Bioware games but their combat and gameplay is broken as hell. If improving that aspect while keeping everything else great about Mass Effect in tact is our definition of "making a game worse" I don't know what people's idea of a better game would be. I'd like to play a game that isn't so bloody easy for a change.

I disagree. We all know what "being tweaked for a larger market" means. And it ain't pretty.
Trimming out unnecessary bullshit isn't pretty? Wow, I never would have guessed.
Mmm. Loot, a large array of skills and talents, story - all obviously bullshit.

Mass Effect 2 was a third person shooter. God knows how they will butcher the third.

I really don't get the obsestion over speculation, no one is going to know if a game is good or crap untill after it is release, it's the exact same as movie

Well. The fanbase was concerned about Dragon Age 2, based on nothing but the marketing soundbites threw around by the developers and EA marketers.

And guess what? We were dead right. The game blew chunks.

We're good at translating marketing bullshit nowadays.

Now, for the most part, Mass Effect 3 has been on the right track. But this last bit of news suggests a change in direction.

Maybe they'll add in auto-aim. Or even better, auto-attack. Who has time the time or intellect to actually PLAY their games these days? Such unnecessary bullshit.
Don't give them ideas. Square Enix already did that.

I agree. Assuming the worst based on nothing is just ridiculous. Besides, being tweaked might be a good thing. But since we don't know what that means, speculating about it is a waste of time.

Mass Effect 3 is going to be awesome! BioWare is still making it aren't they? Yes, yes they are.

I agree that tweaking generally means taking out the pieces of the game that the dedicated fanbase has learned to love and inserting CoD or Gears of War aspects. Also it was mentioned that "we dont really get an input on what bioware does" and I have to reply Why the hell not? Any other consumer base is treated with respect and their complaints about products and ideas for innovation are listened to. So why not games? No I dont beleive we should hijack a developers game idea but we should at least have some say in what we want other than sales figures, because when "tweaked" for a larger audience that audience gains control of the figures. And MercurySteam there IS a cure for stupidity, its called tear EAs grubby fingers off the games and put a bullet in their head.
