The way it presents itself makes it so.zeldagirl said:A) My point is, just because it's obvious to you doesn't automatically make it pretentious.
No, they're making videos for the Internet that nobody but gamers watch.zeldagirl said:B) Again, missing the point. Yes, change the whole system to develop *a new way to study* and more importantly, and new way to *learn* and retain knowledge. They didn't say this was a foolproof plan, but they are making an effort to step in the right direction for our educational system.
A 6-minute video of WTF concepts is not an effort.
Exactly. I don't value people encouraging me to play "good" games when they're "good" by their definition. If I want to play Blacksite, who the hell are they to tell me that game is bad and I should stop me and my friends from buying it.zeldagirl said:c) Oh. I see. You don't value people encouraging you to play *good* games? Because it's somehow wrong to want to encourage consumers to buy well-made products? And they don't encourage valuable discussion, despite the fact that many people on this site seem to disagree and actively talk about the subjects they discuss (and furthermore, share their videos with non-gamers to promote different kinds of discussions)?
And you're telling me *they* are the pompous ones?
That phrase, depending on how you view it, is either extremely obvious or frankly mean-spirited. I watched that video, as well as a bunch of other EC videos, and I'm leaning towards the second one.
Also, I hate to break out the "ESCAPIST WAS BETTER BEFORE" card, seeing how I have only been here for less than two years, but what happens in the EC threads is not my idea of interesting, valuable discussion.
So, yes, they are the pompous ones.
