Well now that Halo: Anniversary, Saints Row the Third, Ass Creed Revelations and plenty of others have come out this week and Skyrim not much earlier before that, I think by now we should be thinking about our personal GoTYs.

I really haven't made my mind up so here are my nominations:
Dead Space 2
Portal 2
Battlefield 3
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Gears of War 3
Saints Row: The Third
Dragon Age 2

I invested many hours in each of these games and played them multiple games, thoroughly enjoying myself each time. So now I ask you for your nominations or if you want, name the game you think will be the straight out winner for GoTY.

Arkham City, because it actually has done everything a sequel should do - bigger, better, more expansive.

The Witcher 2 - it's the best WPRG since Dragon Age Origins and technically the best looking game of the year, plus you got so many free goodies in the box!!

I hope it's The Witcher 2, amazing game, an outsider deserves a shot at it for once instead of a big company.

Skyrim
Dark Souls
Witcher 2
Deus Ex: HR

Only games I remember buying but love each one of them. The one that blew me away the most was Dark Souls. Haven't been impressed by a game as much as it in a fair while.

Dark Souls easily. No other game in this era makes you earn your victories. The boss fights are amazing.

Expect this to be updated since I'm getting Skyrim on Monday and something else for Christmas, but here are my nominations based on what I've played:

GOTY:
1. Arkham City
2. Deus Ex
3. Gears 3
4. Dead Space 2
5. Resident Evil 4 HD

Keep in mind that these are the games I've played that I've enjoyed. Dead Space 2, for instance, is one of my favorites of the year, but I don't think it's up there with Deus Ex. And yes, I know Resident Evil 4 came out earlier, but I just haven't had a chance to play it and I wanted to round this out to a nice number of games (and yes, it is also very very good).

Portal 2
Pokemon White
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
and Sonic Generations, although I'll happily admit that this is mainly nostalgia-based.

I recall the early, unpatched version of The Witcher 2 having a difficulty similar to Dark Souls (apparently). I didn't see it in the prologue, but when i first went into the forest outside Flotsam, I was massacred.

Saints Row The Third.

There have been some massive releases this year and most of them are brilliant. But for me Saints Row takes it. It practically encompasses everything that makes games enjoyable. It doesn't do any technological leaps or gameplay shake ups. But it makes playing a game and the player experience fun. Which at the end of the day is what gaming is all about.

I've never played a Saints Row game before this so I can't really compare it to its predecessors. But this just flew past my expectations surpassed every other game I have.

Close contenders have to be BF3 for the Multiplayer content.

Or Dark Souls for the ridiculous difficulty and rewarding gameplay.

If MW3 wins this year. I'll be dissapointed. Because it is basically a yearly re-release. Then again that's not gonna stop anyone from buying it.

Skyrim may just be not only my GOTY, but the GOAT in my opinion. Even things people complain about like the interface, I find very fast and fluid. Skyrim does so many things so very well. It also helps that I've played TES since Daggerfall.

Portal 2 is my silver medal winner. Very solid, even though it lost a bit of the surprise and charm that the first had. The writing was fantastic, the puzzles fun and overall a great way to handle a sequel.

My nominations;
Batman Arkham City.
Deus Ex; Human Revolution
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Saints Row The Third
Dead Space 2
Dark Souls
Mortal Kombat

But if I had to choose one, it would be Saints Row The Third. Second would be Batman Arkham City, than third would be Deus Ex.

Portal 2 is the one so far that has amazed me the most; The Witcher 2 comes in second(it's the prettiest though). I've played Deus Ex and Saints Row, but they don't impress me as much. Arkham City is a probable contender, but it isn't out yet on PC Q_Q

1) Batman: AC
2) Skyrim
3) Deus Ex: Human Revolution

They're pretty much the only worthy games I can think of that came out this year. Oh, and maybe the Witcher 2.

Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Catherine, Deus Ex, Arkham City, Radiant Historia.

If I were to pick one...Gah I can't. It's between Deus Ex: Human Revolution or Catherine. Too tough to pick between them.

Apparently I haven't played any 2011 games other than Skyrim, trying to save money. But that's fine, because Skyrim is now one of my favorite games ever, possibly the best since Banjo-Tooie in 2000.

EDIT: Wait, I did play Bulletstorm, but that's nowhere near Skyrim so whatever.

Bastion, Bastion, BASTION!
Yes it's a downloadable title, but emotionally it did a lot more for me than any other game this year.
