I also enjoyed Dead Space 2, RAGE and Saints Row 3 but while those were good the games at the top are just excellent.

Dark souls ( game of the year in my book , i don't care what no one says )
Skyrim ( i mean , it has dragons herp derp )
Bigest dissapointment goes to LA Noir , this could bave easily been GOTY but it dropped the ball
Bigest comeback/surprise goes to sonic generation . Sonic colors was good but generations gave me hope for futur sonic games .

Skyward Sword - even though I'm only five hours in and still not finished my first dungeon (though I am at the boss, who's kicking my ass at the moment).
Portal 2 - loved the single player play through earlier in the year and recently made a friend so started playing through the co-op last week.
It's hard to say which at the moment but it's probably going to be Zelda

It will be Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that wins game of the year. From what I've seen, it most certainly bests most of the other contenders. This isn't to say all of the others won't be highly awarded as well in other categories, but I assume Skyrim is going to being home the gold.

My personal GotY is Skyrim with Dark Souls close behind, but I haven't played a lot of games that have come out recently like Arkham City or Human Revolution, so I can't really say I have much of a balanced opinion.
I haven't played all the big ones that came out this year, and at least in the case of Arkham City and Human Revolution, I feel like I'm missing out (I'm considering buying Arkham City when it comes out for PC, though).
As it stands right now, my choice may seem obvious to you, but it's a big surprise for me: Skyrim. I hated Oblivion, and I never had the chance to go deep into Morrowind. I was seriously expecting Skyrim to be more of the same as Oblivion, but for me, at least, it wasn't. I'm currently playing the sh*t out of it, and unable to stop and play anything else. And I still have more than half of New Vegas ahead of me!
Another candidate would definitely be Portal 2. I loved that game to death.

The Old Republic remains better than any game I've played so far, the only issue is that while it may indeed exist on the December 20th release date that is global... it won't TECHNICALLY be a 2011 release and so can't get GOTY.
In that case, it would be Deus Ex.
