Well there's your problem...

In all seriousness I have never heard that problem but as a fellow X square circle owner I would warn you of the red ring! Everything bad with an xbox involves a red ring at some point.

No not really. Xboxs have hundreds of different, and unique ways to screw us over with.

So, Yay us?

(PS3 is looking more and more tempting as time goes along.)

OT: have you tried the xbox forums yet? Seriously go there if you haven't. That is more likely to help. Always check there first for problems with an xbox.

This sounds more like a problem with your gamertag/account rather than a mechanical failure of the box. I would give customer support a call and see if they can't sort it out, they're usually pretty good about it.

Post your gamertag and I'll see if I can view it. Check out your privacy settings for notifications and game history blocking as well.

I still love my xbox and I always will, but you have to admit some of the stuff on PS3 is pretty awesome.

It just gets annoying having to replace them for various reasons. They aren't cheap. So far I've replaced mine 3 times, and I ended up buying a second-hand arcade one. It's out-lasted them all. wtf?

Feeling your pain with that one brother I replaced one after it just gave out completely. I'll admit the playstation seems to be a stronger console but I dunno I just love the xbox more. It gave me great fun with halo and gears (and the controller which lets face it is your whole connectivity to the game). I have never had the heart to leave it. Also Xbox Live is a fantastic service even though it's a bit on the pricy side

I do like Xbox Live better, I must admit. It's the little things like being able to sign in more than one account on the same xbox, and play your music and games at the same time. Also, the online community seems a little more, active, than PSN's.

Also, since Christmas and my Birthday are pretty much side by side, I haven't had to pay for my subscription myself yet ;P Yay for older brothers lumping everything into one!

I take the value where I see it, 360 just has more console exclusive games that I'm interested in. Also, used games seem to get turned around faster and marked down quicker for the 360 which helps a girl on a budget (I think I payed full retail on maybe 5 games in the last year).

Also, xbox live costs me like, 12 cents a day, I don't think that's on anyone's pricey side.

Check your harddrive, it could be failing. Try borrowing a harddrive and see if it happens.

Should it be an x-clamp related problem that leads to RROD, there are two options:

- Send it back to MS assuming your warranty is not void
- Perform a RROD fix, and maybe a reflow

IMO I think it's the harddrive.

As for the PS3 vs. Xbox 360 battle: The PS3 is better built, and that's a fact. It is cooler, less prone to dying, but eventually has the same flaws.

The YLOD overheating problem on PS3 is essentially the same issue the RROD on an Xbox. Both can be fixed with a reflow.

Yeah rub it in why don't you? :p By active do you mean the 12 year olds have access to headsets? Because if thats what you mean then I agree with you. As for music I suppose there is a nice feeling of playing fallout NV with a bit of Creedence or Bon Jovi in the background. Also the feeling of navigating the menu is simpler I feel. Also Kinect (gimmick or not) I find is ridiculously better than PS Move.

12 year olds, not really. I don't actually run into them much. It must be some sort of record. It's just that it has a different feel to it, and yeah, it might have something to do with more people on xbox having headsets, but when I played Black Ops on PS3 it just felt different than with Xbox. I don't know, it's hard to describe.

It's sort of like living your entire life in L.A, and then moving to Manchester.

Firstly I hereby rename this thread to the Xbox 360 appreciation thread (civil version)
Secondly I have run into 12 year olds quite a bit but I find it is mostly on very mainstream games. I find the ps3 is a bit more sluggish. I mean the graphics and the run time are top notch but the games just feel like you move slower. Who knows in this crazy world we live in. I see your L.A to Manchester and raise you moving from Melbourne to Brisbane. Same sort of weather and people but just feels different.

Ah, Touche.

I have had the framerate drop whilst playing online on the PS3, Though, I just chalked it down to my brothers internet connection. :/

Now now cant blame the internet for everything... Unless it was being hacked at the time (come on that barb had to come into it sometime). In the end it's a bit like pokemon. The machine chooses you and you must earn it's respect.
