What side effects have you gotten from medication?

For me the list is long.

Lamictal:

I got double vision up to 3 times at once.
Ok the way this works, in normal vision you see: I
Double vision is: II
I got: II II II (slightly staggered)

Tegretol:

I only got suicidal thoughts/feelings

Keppra:
I got:

Anger/rage
Suicidal thoughts/feelings
Exhaustion

And we have yet to see if I got any of the long term side effects mostly damage to internal organs or brain.

What about you?

Amphetamine. (BEST PHARM EVAR!!!!) allowed me to stay up for 173 hours straight. By the end I cannot even begin to explain the things I was seeing.

Benadryl. Somehow makes me even more violent, angry, and aggressive than I normally am. Once I went into the ER for a severe allergic reaction and started becoming unresponsive. I told the doctors I was "allergic" to it, but they decided to run an IV drip of it. Within 45 minutes I was promptly ejected from the ER for knocking over gurneys and slinging bedpans and other assorted acts of agitated and aggressive behavior.

We could make one hell of a team you on benadryl ripping the place up and me on keppra, "the pills are telling me to rip your throat out".

Psych meds have nasty side effects. Dosage needs constantly adjusted/monitored till they are therapeutic.

Ritalin can make me quite anxious when I'm on it, but I'm on a lower dose now so it's not as bad. When I took Concerta, I lost my appetite, and, when it wore off daily, my ADD was actually worse, and my grades went down when they should have gone up. I'm on other medications for allergies, migraines and to help me sleep, but they have no noticeable sideeffects.

Seroquel. Feeling like a zombie for 6 hours a day and sleeping for the other 18.
Trileptal. Feeling all agitated and shaky and dizzy and weak.

And that's only the stuff I really remember - I recall the doctor telling me how they might make me feel MORE depressed (pretty redundant) but I could never tell if it was just the way I was feeling, or the medication.

I was put on a wide variety of psych meds in absurd doses in late adolescence. Apparently the long-term effects include Parkinson's Disease, although I wouldn't know Parkinson's from caffeine addiction m'self, plus it's hard to know how much of my screwed up neurology is from the psych meds and how much is from good old fashioned ludicrous doses of amphetamines since I had one hell of a drug problem in my teens.

Yeah I don't take pills because I am very weak against them for example when I was 15 since I was really short (like 1.38 meters that's the international metric system so that is what I use) I had a real bad headache and my mother gave me 2 of those children headache pills and that was enough to make me fell dizzy and basically high since then I don't really take medication even if the doctor prescribes it. Hmm... maybe I'm afraid of drugs.

I've never heard of psychiatric drugs causing Parkinsons, but I think haldol can cause tremors. Only after long term use though.

Also, @OP: I'm guessing that's for epilepsy and not mood stablization, given that you're on multiple anti-convulsants? How's that working out for you in terms of seizures?

I've never really had severe adverse reactions to medication, except for sertraline. Killed my libido and the whole suicidal thoughts thing.

Ritalin. Very nauseous and tired, loss of imagination, difficult to learn new concepts.

No other meds.

You have the exact opposite reaction to Benadryl as I do. I just find it impossible to focus on anything and I'm pretty much out cold for the next few hours, or I'm in a zombie/sleep walking state. Not literally sleep walking.

Well this one time I drank half a bottle of NyQuil. I slept for 18 hours but when I aroused from my slumber I was cured from my affliction.

Other than that I've never had to take medication, i play video games to numb the pain.

Keppra and tegretol seem to be working, lamictal was just trying to kill me, so we dropped it. I do admit that lamictal made going downstairs a ton of fun though.

At one point I was on both an amphetamine(Focalin XR) and an antidepressant(can't remember the name).
The antidepressant caused nausea and vomiting and the amphetamine caused loss of appetite, giving me a more skeletal look.

The ever-so-popular anti-depressants, also goes by the name of happy-pills, chemical balancers...

They failed their task, as they did not conjure a sense of happiness, but a hollow one.

So, I stopped taking them. And I am totally fine now. I only used them to please my ever-so-worrying mother.
