I used to love my DSiXL - Would I love the 3DS XL?

So here's my question - I absolutely loved my DSi XL (Wine Red don'tcha know) and played it obsessively, Castlevania, Pokemon HGSS, and a select few others, made animated shorts on it, would've carried it to heaven and back..

Then for some INEXPLICABLE reason I genuinely don't remember, I traded it in for a PSP something (I forget which of the 7,000 PSP models it was).

Escapists, I was an idiot. I used the PSPiece of crap for about 15 minutes.

I put it to you, 3DS XL owners, did you upgrade from an earlier DS and was it worth it? Why or why not?

Hooray, someone replied! Thank you! Is the display noticeably better would you say? How about the battery life? My DSi lasted for so long between charges, I'm fairly sure it was powered by love.

Do you find you play and enjoy the 3D ones, or is it like the Wii - a thinner Gamecube?

However, 3DS have a shit ton of games being released in the coming months.
Such as?

I know about a few titles, like Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter, but the way you're saying it seems like there is more incoming.

You wouldn't happen to know where I could find a complete release calendar, would you? Seriously, very few media outlets seem to bother with one anymore. At least, not for European handheld releases anyway.

Yep I've got one and I love it. Feels really well built and it's comfortable to use.

Please Note, that these are games that I find interesting and you may not. However, so far this year this is my list of amazing games I will be buying:

Fire Emblem: Awakening
Pokemon X/Y (Unsure what version I will get yet)
Luigi's Mansion
Monster Hunter
Possible Remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 (Overclocked)
Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers
Etryian Oddyssey IV
CastleVania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate

Those are just the ones off the top of my head, I remember there being more, however I am unsure as to what they were.
So many awesome games coming this year. I'm really hoping that SMT IV gets released this year

I just bought a 3ds xl on Thursday and have yet to take it out of the box. It's so big, I'm debating getting the smaller one but I just can't make up my mind. I have to decide before FE: A hits the shelves.

I went from a DS Lite (The blue/black model that was only released for one year) to a 3DS XL and I like it, I haven't traded my DS Lite in, and probably won't. The only thing I don't like about the 3DS XL is that original DS games look a little wierd because of the increased resolution. Because I don't use the 3D a lot (gives me a headache) I get about 8 solid hours play time out of the battery, a bit less if i use the streetpass thing a lot.

BTW I also have a PSP and like it, granted i don't have many games for it, but i like the ones i do have none the less, i suppose it depends on what you look for in a console.

I read that if you hold down start and select while loading a DS game you can play it in 1:1 mode which may help you with the distortion.

Fire Emblem: Awakening, Virtue's last Reward, and Pokemon X & Y were the reasons I got mine. All the awesome titles that will be on the system are just an added bonus.

If you've no longer got a DS of any kind, there is literally no reason not to get a 3DS, XL or otherwise. Sure it's a bit more expensive than a DS(Lite/i/iXL), but it can do everything a normal DS can do, and more.

3DS also has good games of its own: Ocarina of Time 3D, Starfox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Resident Evil: Revelations, Tales of the Abyss and even more(all but two I listed are remakes, but 3DS has more to offer than just that).

My own personal opinion is that if you don't have a DS of any kind and want one, you'd be a fool not to get a 3DS.
