Titan Quest [http://store.steampowered.com/app/4540] is better.
Titan Quest is at least equal to Diablo II but it's stretch to call it a better game. Even fully patched it still has it's share of problems like that rubber-banding bullshit it does if you've been playing too long. The physics engine can do some weird shit that can either be hilarious to watch or a make impossible to get a piece of loot too. Titan Quest's map is also the same every time you play too, unlike with Diablo II where it more or less generates random maps for each character.

Once you hit Act II of Titan Quest it starts to look and sound an awful lot like Diablo II itself not that this is exactly a bad thing, but still, for a story that was written by the guy who wrote Braveheart I expected something better than "Let's pretty much just do what this other game that's similar to ours already did.", it feels kinda lazy.

Both games are good in their own rights, I've owned and played both of them pretty much since they came out but I don't really prefer one over the other.

well, for a dated game it is still quite good, i still play it, you can get the Diablo II war chest (it has the ancestrall recall expansion and the other one) for about $20-$30 depending on where you live.

If you do play, I recommend playing as a sorceress or an Amazon, very tricky classes and both very rewarding
... are you sure you're thinking of Diablo 2 and not some other game? 0.0

Diablo 2 only had one expansion pack, Lord of Destruction. (It also came in the 'battle chest' not 'war chest', though that's not such a big distinction I suppose, unless you're really sure what you had was called a 'war chest')

And Diablo 1 was the same, only had 1 expansion pack('Hellfire', which was actually made by Sierra not Blizzard if I remember right, and didn't come in the 'Diablo battle chest')
Ancestrall Recall is the Lord of Destruction expansion, you forget, different areas name them differently, it goes under both names i think

My personal favorites were always the Necromancer, Druid, and Cleric.
I don't remember a Cleric being in Diablo II, is that a Mod? (or did you mean Paladin?)

google to the rescue, 'Ancestral Recall' is a fan-made Mod for Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction.

Yes. I meant Paladin. I just goofed. I had other games in my head at the time I was typing that post.

Though, I often called the Paladin that when playing Diablo 2; simply because of the overtly religious tones to his abilities.
