I want to talk about Battlefield 3

Alright, so I was watching all of the tessers for MW3, and I noticed that a lot of the top rated comments were somewhat like "OMFG THIS GAME LOOKS GEY, BATTLEFIELD 3 LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER"

So I decided to look up battlefield 3 gameplay, and to say the least, I am unimpressed... substantially.

They just tried to make the game look realistic, and it doesn't. It looks terrible. The arms, and gun in the First person perspective look like it was just pasted into a blu ray movie, and I personally think that bluray looks like crap.
I don't mind the game so much as a game, but it is really over hyped, serioulsy, it doesn't look correct graphically, and I can't put my mind on exactly what makes it look so crappy... really I can't...

I'm not judging the game on anything right now, because it isn't out yet, but right now I am judging it graphically, and It really looks like crap...

So can anyone point it out to why it looks so bad to me? I can't really explain it, it seems like nothing fits in with it...

But anyway, what do you guys think of BF3 so far?

EDIT:

I've figured it out, It has to do slightly with astetics, and mostly with the player character. The movement doesn't look real with him, and the gun and arm look too realistic for the rest of it, so it looks as if it was just pasted in. The game looks great, I was never bashing it on anything but the graphical/astethical pov of it. I love the battlefield series, I just don't like the look of this one.

Also, it looks really fun, and since I enjoyed BC2, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this one too.

Word for word this. I'm not sure what's wrong with OP's eyeballs, clearly they are of substandard quality. I try and try to see what OP is talking about, but all I come up with is REALLY??? Also, I don't wanna be a dick and point out the games you have on your xbox account OP, but it seems that obvious troll is obvious.

Frostbite 2. Good God! If you think the stuff they do with that is unimpressive I'm going to lose all remaining faith in humanity.

I don't care what franchise you're into, if neither of those things make you happy inside I will start crying right now. (I'm not even going to try to hide it, I'm a huge fan of Frostbite 2)

They might be incredible, but they don't fit in. Take out the arms and gun, and it looks almost as good as Cryengine 3.

I'll site crysis 2 as my example- The game looks brilliant. Everything seems to fit in correctly, in Battlefield, it doesn't. It looks like they tried to mix 4 diffirent pictures in a first person view perspective, while in crysis 2, everything seems to be in sync, like it would be in real life.

If you don't like the graphics then that's fine. As for "gameplay", how can you tell if it's good or bad? You haven't played it yet. No one outside of EA has. It might be bad or good, but you can't infer how it handles from a few minutes of prepared footage.

From a technical standpoint, the graphics shown in BF3 are pretty damn good. From a "artistic" standpoint, you might have issues with the colors and the lighting, but virtually everyone I've ever talked to has said it looks pretty nice.

I think it looks really good, especially the lighting, shadows and dust clouds. If it wasnt for the idiot with the rocket launcher I could be convinced this was a real photo.

I more interested in the gameplay, which is the reason I like the Battlefiled games, but whoever says Graphics arent important is lying.

Note, that I said nothing bad about the game except for how the image is displayed, and I am suddenly a huge COD fanboi.

Listen to yourself. The game basically takes super realistic characters, and puts them into backgrounds that look like mixing humans with animation. I liked how in Crysis 2 the characters went well with the enviornment, these guys look like real actors put into clearly animated backgrounds.

I said nothing bad about gameplay, Not being sarcastic, It seems like they spent all of there time polishing up the characters, and not the backgrounds. Seriously, I'll say the characters look awesome, but they aren't correctly placed... It is like there is a green screen behind them displaying the image...

The only thing that looks out of place is the smoke and that's because it is a still, and billowing smoke is supposed to look a little weird in a still.
It looks amazing overall.

What you are saying makes absolutely no sense OP, which feeds the notion that you are trolling. You are writing a bunch of words that do nothing but make everyone question what exactly it is that you are trying to achieve with your posts. To write that a game with a fairly new engine, that comes out at the end of the year, has bad graphics compared to a game that came out in march, and taking into account that of 5 games listed in your xbox profile, 3 are CoD, not the fact that you think the graphics are bad, is what has made people think that you might just be a CoD fanboy.
