Buy-out some bad mortgages and loans. A billion dollars worth of Canadians without crushing debt would leave behind a pretty good legacy.

Pay for the complete education of my friends who are struggling to pay for college, then probably just have fun. Maybe write and draw out as much as possible on the species and world I made up and hire a team to turn it into a decent comic series or something like that.
Oh, and donate at least a million to the Bookery. Great place, bought my Savage Worlds rulebook and first dice there.
Pay off my parents' mortgage on the house and probably buy my dad a winery near Cambria, California.
Any money after that...put into the custody of my best friend, he'd probably know how to use it better than I do, he's always been a bit more grounded in reality than me, heh.

I'd probably go nuts, I have no idea what to do with that kinda money, especially when trying to cope with my imminent mortality.
1 billion dollars? pay off debt of close family members, set up trust funds for said relatives. And freeze my body so they can cure whatver I have in the future.... One month really isn't enough to do much.
I'd buy a pony, paint it pink, call it Pink Pie then spend the rest of my money to have a MASSIVE party with it.

6. Divide it to all the people who I care about most.
7. Spend the remaining time I had with friends and family. Mostly with Tom though. It'd be hard to leave him, and I'm sure he'd be heartbroken once I died.

Get some really nice music gear and send some to my family in Ireland, some to my girl, a lot to charities I agree with and the rest to my family here.

I'd see as much of the world as I practically could, type up all my best ideas and stories and memories, leave a large amount to my family, maybe start a scholarship fund with a decent amount, leave the rest to charity, and do the most dangerous enjoyable things I can find that won't lead to a slow, painful death... probably combine the first and last with a trip up Mt. Everest.
