I was attacked by Twilight fangirls on the bus... Scariest moment of my life.

I've been told I look like that Robert Pattinson dude before. I see only a very slim resemblance, but every few days back in highschool some girl would come up to me and told me I looked like him. It didn't help that I didn't care about my hair back then, and let it go wavy and everywhere, like Robbo does.

But yesterday I had to catch a bus home that picks up students from highschools around the city. Lots of younger teens I had been glad I could avoid going to college. When I sat down, I saw about six girls, (around fifteen or so) looking and pointing at me and giggling... I just ignored them.

BUT THEN one of them came and sat next to me, and just said: "Do you know you look like Robert Pattinson?"

I said I had been told that before. And yeah, that's when the chaos started.
Long story short, they kind of mobbed me, played with my hair and tried to force me to sign their legs and stuff. It was so awkward, because a girl I had known from my old school was sitting behind me, and we exchanged disbelieving looks now and again. Eventually half of them had to get off the bus (THANK GOD).

I swear, Twilight is like a cult. It's insane how some people can be so obsessed with something they lose all self control. Remember those stories about how people have been trampled to death at Twilight movie premiers?

Have you had any run-ins with Twi-hards or Twilight fans? I once told a girl I didn't like Twilight, and she has barely spoken to me since. If I told these girls they'd probably exorcise me or something.

What about you, though?

EDIT:
There have been a hilarious amount of people saying I should 'take advantage' of said girls... But what the hell kind of person would that make me? Plus I'm in love with the cutest girl in existence, whom I had just SPENT THE DAY WITH... No. Just no. I don't operate like that.

Just be glad they did not take your head as a warning to all those who dare defy Twilight!

OT: I have run into them before and let me say, it is a freaking cult man. They would martry(spelling?) themselves for it, and thats a scary sight.

We don't get that really here. Sure, some girls like it, but not to that extent, and they're usually the borderline-special needs ones.

It's the all clear zone! Unfortunately it's full of indie kids.

...Ever thought of taking advantage?

You know, a lot of people would probably say "what the fuck are you complaining about? Girls were all over you and telling you you're hot and stuff!" But, I'm not like them. I know what it's like to have standards that supersede sex (and pedophilia for those not paying attention to the girls' age). A "hot" body does nothing to outweigh a brain taken over by this Twilight crap. So, in all honesty, I can say: dude, that sucks. I'm so sorry you had to be subjected to that much retardation.

Tis' true. You don't look like Shrek.

I told a girl I didn't let Twilight and she slapped me. And then her friend slapped me. We have to stop this madness!

You think u have problems. I look like Garfunkel (doesn't help that I can play most of his songs) and some guy I know shouts across the street any time I see him saying I look like Mika.

The most awkward thing was I had just spent a day together with the girl I really care about... Gaaaah...

Yeah, thanks man. It's nice to see another guy who's not just into it for the sexy times. A guy who actually cares about 'that romance crap that girls love so much.'

Erm.... NO.

They'd probably throw me into ice cold water and make me bite them so they can get the 'real vampire experience'...

*shudder*

Slap 'em back. They're stupid bitches, they just assaulted you and maybe you can slap some sense into them.

Seriously, people should take steps to protect girls they know. Friends don't let friends get into Twilight.

Seeing as how I'm on a Creative Writing course the majority of the class is made up of Weird emo girls and wannabe romance writers... so there's a metric arse-ton of twilight fangirls among them. The amount of abuse I got on the first day saying "...yeah, that's not a good book by any standards" was unreal.
Anyway, I get a long list of varied celebrities I apparently look like... including, but not limited to, a skinny Gerard Butler, a well-fed Adrian Brody and "that one guy off the telly".

People say I look like Daniel Radcliffe, but after hearing your story I take that as a compliment.

I thought that you were literally attacked by them, like you had insulted Twilight or something and suffered their wrath. What happened to you just sounds weird. I'd probably be annoyed by it, as its attention I wouldn't want.

Apparently if you look enough like someone popular now-a-days you become popular. That is so backasswards.

Thankfully I've never run into Twi-hards or at least never got their attention about Twilight. I remember in High School last year there were quite a number of girls who were interested in it and would wear shirts showing it. I was so tempted to buy and wear this shirt one day, just to see how they would react:

I'd probably find out which among them were just fans and which ones were Twi-hards, in the worst way possible. I've never really had a problem with Twilight though. It may not be the most intellectual thing out there but considering how women are usually portrayed in "geek" or "nerd" culture, I don't really have that much room to talk.

When you run into them, ask them if they've read "The Picture of Dorian Gray". If they have, ask them how they know Edward Cullen is any different from Dorian Gray.

Then ask them if they want to end up like Sibyl Vane.

woah.

can't say i have ever seen that on my trips on the transit system.
Those people are scary.

Also Robert Pattinson was good looking when he was playing Cedric he just looks so odd now. I am not saying you look odd.
Also I wonder if we could see a photo of your supposed look alike.

Trouble is though, most of them probably wouldn't know who the f Buffy is.

Seriously though, the chances of them even having the slighest clue who a great person like Wilde is, or even having read a tidbit of his work... it wouldn't be worth opening your mouth to say.
Perhaps if you had a voicebox like Hawking.
