My mom bought me those Percy Jackson books for no reason. My first thought is " omg she's gonna make me read to my cousins!" But no, all I have to do is read them to myself. After two weeks I finish the books and think to myself how my mother actually gave me something I somewhat enjoyed even though I didn't do anything to deserve it

Then I found out the reason why she did it: I'm supposed to babysit 2 of my cousins (aged 11 and 12) and take them to see a few movies. The main movie they want to see? The lighting thief. After reading the books I'm not to happy about having to go see Greek Harry Potter.

Has anyone else been set up like this?

PS: Do 11 yr olds need babysitting? By a 14 yr old?

You thought of it as a Greek Harry Potter? Huh. I though of it as an emo Clash of the Titans.

Anyways, I'm lucky enough to have not been set up in this particular way. And that age range for baby-sitting is totally a little weird.

Wow, Sucks to be you. Luckily for me im old enough to have to be asked to babysit, otherwise i just go out driving with my friends.

OT: Im usually quite savvy, But i was suckered into go to ireland to see family (my step-mum's irish) and ended up getting lumbered with my lttle brother the whole trip. I dont go on holiday with my dad anymore because of this.

Although they are on about Orlando, Ive already told them if I go im going to do my own thing (hell, I dont know how busy theme parks are in orlando, But i expect them too be rammed.

That never happened to me. Probably because I started going out at night around age 13.

People probably don't trust me with children. Children don't even trust me with other children. So no.

And I don't quite think that a 14 yr old should be babysitting an 11 yr old and a 12 yr old. just doesn't quite seem like a smart move for some reason.

She wants me to "understand" it. So once my cousins start asking about the stuff in the movie I can explain
