I really want to see a FMA live action... because it must be impossible to ruin a series that awesome.
You should never tempt them. It could Uwe Boll that makes it

There is one thing I have to know. Did James Marsters do a good job? Throughout the development of this movie, I lost more and more faith as I saw more and more casting decisions, production designs, differences with the manga, and so on, but the only thing keeping me from immediately considering this movie an unparalleled failure was the casting of James Marsters as Piccolo, who I thought was absolutely perfect for the part.

So tell me. Did he at least do a decent job?

Why does everybody like FMA? Everything is set up simply to depress the hell out you later. In fact I would like a live action version, maybe they can make it less convoluted and actually interesting.

Do not speak his name! If you say it while playing a video game, he jumps out of it, makes it into a shitty film and then punches you out. Fact.

I'm just wondering why all the characters look like freaks, even the girls with their HUGE foreheads.

some anime and manga/western comics can be converted over to live action beautify ( most recent one I saw well done was a death note live action) but.... this was not one of them....remotely.

I'm holding my breath for akira, though thats more mainstream and being taken more serious, so I have high hopes.

I heard a rumour saying that they were planning to do a Cowboy Bebop with Keanu Reeves, but then again, that might just be a rumour.

Anywho, on topic, this sort of thing was just meant to fail as soon as it was announced.

In the anime he just wants to train and fight and train and fight and train and fight. You can't translate that to a Hollywood movie.
Heard of Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Huh, Ahnold's characters have 100x more character than Goku, as cheesy as his characters are.

There was a script for that floating around a while ago. The guy who made Wild Wild West wanted to make a live action AKIRA. Unfortunately, like all his films, Tetsuo's final form was a giant spider, rather than a big tumor.

I wish I was joking. I'll see if I can find a link, but I remember the s***-storm over the script clearly.

Ok, think about it, the kid from War of the Worlds... as Goku? Then Emmy Rossum as Bulma? As soon as I found that out, I knew it would be bad. Translation from Manga/Anime to Hollywood generally isn't all that great to begin with...

Oh you poor deluded soul.
But Hollywood can't... To do so would be such torture... doesn't the noble institution have any shred of dignity left?
Why ask a question that everyone knows the answer too? I mean, hollywood will do anything for a buck. Fact, I bet in the near future will they will make a live action of Sailor Moon movie and cast Miley Cyrus (as Hannah Montana) or Lindsay Lohan (both of whom I despise) as the lunar heroin and hope for it to do as well as this DB movie

Nope, that's definitely been confirmed, though since the creators are executive producers, it shouldn't be as big a departure from the series (I hope). Still can't see Keanu doing Spike justice. Oh well...

Going back to Dragonball, I think that casting Justin Chatwin as Goku was a mistake. There's no shortage of Asian actors on this planet, so why have a Caucasian actor play the main character (when everyone else I've seen on posters and trailers is Asian)? I would say this is one of the worst castings I've ever heard of, but I've heard about this American adaptation of Death Note coming up that will star Zac Efron (shudder...)

EDIT: All right, I see the visual resemblence between Light and Zac, but I still get horrible visions of him singing corny love songs to L.

Hollywood can ruin anything, swear to god, but if they DID do a live action ...I reckon the Artist Arakawa would whip them to peices if they did anything of that sort of appaulling mediocraty, which has been seen here to her series. She's a scary woman.

But the idea is good, and once things start to stop sucking, It's a possibility. Only some of the trickier aspects is getting someone decent at acting and short enough to play Ed.
