I will always remember the first time I got headshot'ed by one of my m8s in GOW. I know how arrogant that sounds but i'm godlike on that game and he was well... shit.

The first time I finished Fallout and the protagonist gets kicked out of the vault. I still rememeber that feeling of ungratefulness as he limped away into the desert with The Inkspots crooning away and the montage of images showing how all of my actions had effected everyone in the wasteland.

And the monkeys in System Shock 2, they still scare the crap outta me today, heck, all of System Shock 2 creeps me out.

The " Wampa Stompa" debug mode cheat in Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, for the N64. You had to make a file with " Wampa Stompa" for your name, start playing, and bring up the pause menu. You then had to hold down L, R, Z, left on the D-Pad, all four C buttons, and then press halfway left on the analogue stick until you hear a tone, then halfway right on the analogue stick until you hear a tone, repeating until a big cheat menu came up. Anyone who's seen an N64 controller will appreciate how ridiculous a code it is. People who lack really long fingers or a third arm would have to manipulate the analogue stick with their chin.

I will probably always remember the time I couldn't sleep, sneaked towards the living room because I was supposed to be asleep, and seeing my mom play Chrono Trigger. That was one of the most surreal things I ever saw.

Cheats for Mortal Kombat 3 on the Megadrive: ACUBUBADCRALAUCRALAUBADLADCRUD
Silent Hill 1: Confused me SO MUCH as I'd not seen reviews/previews (I got it on import), I just knew it was "better than Resident Evil"

I'll always remember:
-my mom's video game addiction. She was a stay-at-home mom, and she "bought the kids" an NES back in the day. She also "bought the kids" nintedo power, tetris, and Dragon Warrior (along with all the special maps and stuff...i think she ordered them from NP). Coming home from school when I was 6 and seeing her playing Dragon Warrior was awesome.
-being given pirated copies of Leisure Suit Larry 1-3 by my uncle when I was 10. Hillarity ensued.
-discovering that survival horror games were my niche. Before I bought one, my boyfriend (now common law husband) and I rented a gamecube along with Eternal Darkness. Again, hillarity ensued (ya know, when you start to really lose your sanity in the game, and you get something like the "blue screen of death" and freak out because you think that you've lost all your game data? Yeah. Good times.)

Has to be these:

- LoZ: Ocarina of Time. One of the first games I ever played, and what really got me into them.
- Jazz Jackrabbit is remembered by me, Omnidum. He is remembered by me.
- Silent Hill II. The first encounter with Pyramid Head. Just hearing that scratching noise when he dragged with knife about gives me the bejeesus.
- 007:Nightfire. Possibly my first experience with a FPS.
- Banjo-Kazooie. It was just so plain innovative, it was gold to me.
- Halo 3. I just felt the epicness of the story and the set pieces (the dual Scarab fight during the Covenant - I loved that there were Scorpions, Hornets, Mongooses and Warthogs).

Using the cheat code Goober to enable god mode in Wolfenstien3d.
Cheat code Grazing in Ultima to make your character take off their clothing and pirouette across the screen.

Spring break freshmen year of high school locked in a room with a friend, a coffeepot, a tandy1000, a microwave, a case of beef Raman and a copy of Eye of the beholder.

But the sad thing is I'm fourteen! I shouldn't know about it, even though I do.

Watching my brother play F.E.A.R, at night. He was sweating and a drop ran down his neck. He shrieked like a girl and jumped 10 feet vertically. He had to explain to me why, as there were no onscreen cues/reasons for it. The atmosphere was just that tense. Truly awesome.

-The start of the second level in Unreal 1. Going from cramped corridors to the huge ourdoors.
-Watching a friend of mine getting utterly freaked out by the weirdness in Portal while everyone else was completely unaffected.
-One bored evening on the first Unreal Tournament with approx 4500 kills in one botmatch. CTF.
-Teamplaying Secret of Mana
-Getting lost in Maridia in Super Metroid.
-Vs mode (either of them) in the original Mario Cart.
-Messing around with silly gameshark codes on any number of games
-Playing the Red Dwarf RPG, when everyone at the table mimes the turbulance effect in perfect synchronisation. Also, Mr Flibble from the same.
-Making the GM cry in any RPG.
-TA. 1 Krogoth. 4261 kills. I love that game.

Playing battle mode in the original Mario Kart with my friends, and instead of playing against each other, firing off a bunch of green shells and working together to avoid them. Good times, good times...
