I would be absolutely shocked if it had anything at all. At best, it'd be a mild wink at the camera (like a newspaper about a famous explorer in LoU or a poster or something).
The games are VERY different in terms of tone. I really don't see how Drake could show up at all in the LoU universe without pulling people right out of the game's mood and atmosphere.

An explorer with aspirations of wealth and fame having his dreams dashed due to society falling apart. Maybe even going insane and hording a bunch of artifacts that are worthless to a world only concerned with survival.tippy2k2 said:

I remember some people throwing that idea around when the game first came out, but I haven't heard it in a while and I didn't really follow it.
Still haven't played The Last of Us either so the whole idea may be completely wrong in the context of the game but I just remember hearing about something like that.

Nathan Drake would certainly survive the collapse of society. Hell, he would probably handle it much better than Joel did. He might even enjoy it.
I can imagine him as a leader of small band of rebels or he's working solo looking for a big score. Sully is obviously dead by then.

I haven't played The Last of Us but that might be too much of a tonal dissonance.

I don't think Drake will make an actual appearance. Should The Last of Us 2 be made, there will probably be a shout-out to the next Uncharted game, just as Uncharted 3 had this shout out. I wouldn't be surprised if you could unlock a costume of Drake even. But as far as an actual cameo in-game, I don't think so. The games are too different in tone, and as the article said, it's extremely depressing to believe that all the characters from Uncharted end up dead or worse. It would take some real guts to make that move.
I would doubt it considering Naughty Dog is no stranger to putting references to their past games in newer ones. I will say the Last of Us world could use someone more fun to hang out with. I like the idea of Nathan Drake being teleported to the Last of Us universe just for fun. Besides, he already fought zombie-like enemies in the first game, why not fight mushroom zombies?

Nathan Drake already has a cameo in TLoU1. He was a stuffed toy in the kids bedroom after you meet Henry and Sam. The bar from Uncharted 3 also makes an appearance.
These are just little shout outs, like the Uncharted and Jak and Daxter board game in the toy shop, and the Faithful Dog pet store.
I would've loved it though if David turned out to Nathan Drake all along.

Seriously, that is where I saw this, just yesterday. On that note, all this really is is an Easter Egg - it's like the Cavemen in Halo 3, there aren't actually cavemen on the Ark but it's just a little nod to the fans. Although to be fair, in that case the books kind of make it a possibility later on. Anyway, this newspaper is just a little nod to the Naughty Dog fans and a brief teaser of the next project the company worked on (i.e. TLOU). Can't really see it being a deliberate tie in like Portal/Half Life to tie the two games together...
