Yeah, I got Cory Doctorow as well. Does this "statistical analysis tool" have only a handful of authors to chose from?

Also, who the hell is Cory Doctorow? Has anybody ever read any of his books?

I got....Stephanie Meyer. Wow...N-n-noo, only "wow" can describe my utter self-disgust. I can't live with writing like...that! That would be like Marcus Fenix coming out of the closet.

I don't think this works very well.

My 1st year university blog post are like Stephen King
My Naughty Bear game review was like Cory Doctorow

And Terry Pratchett's short story 'Troll Bridge' was written like Mark Twain...

Creative: Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island, etc.)

Academic: James Joyce ([link]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Joyce[/link])

Casual: Stephen King (does that really need a reference?)

So on a basic level, it seems to have some method in its working. My exciting stuff is written like an adventure writer, my serious stuff is written like a literary heavyweight, and my casual stuff is written like a readable, modern bestseller.

I've had lots of weird results. I plugged in different portions of a naval history paper I wrote and it came back with Shakespeare, Robert Louis Stevenson and Mario Puzo. I'm wondering how much is based on content and how much is based on style.

WIKIPEDIA: Cory Doctorow (pronounced /ˈkɒri ˈdɒktəroʊ/; born July 17, 1971) is a Canadian blogger, journalist, and science fiction author who serves as co-editor of the blog Boing Boing. He is an activist in favour of liberalising copyright laws and a proponent of the Creative Commons organisation, using some of their licences for his books. Some common themes of his work include digital rights management, file sharing, and post-scarcity economics.[1]

Hm... interesting. I copied a few of my old short stories into that and got:
Kurt Vonnegut, H.P Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe

But i entered my text in the original german... so this might be off a bit (Although I LOVE Lovercraft and Poe and may have been influenced by their texts)

When i entered a few of my posts in english from a few forums i got a few names where i have no idea who that is: Cory Doctorow for example...

After running a few paragraphs of a story through it, it says I write like Arthur C. Clarke (whoever that is).

I tried it again with a fanfic I'm working on, and it says I write like J.K. Rowling.

*Using a case study on BP for Geography (if your interested before the incident) I apparently write like J.R.R Tolkien
*By using some Chemistry questions I did I write like David Foster Wallace
*Using Physics I get Isaac Asimov
*Using a History essay plan I get H.P Lovecraft

How exactly does it work out its result?
