Iceland dumps Guitars into Volcano to Promote Concert

Some say this is fake, some a cool way to promote a concert, but I say that it is a waste of money, resources (i.e. plastic), and a perfectly good volcano.

Not much to ask, just your thoughts on this video.

Heh, I've seen this before, I think it happened a while ago now, actually.

Still, I thought it to be a fairly amusing thing to do. Screw the costs and what not, I wish I could do that with my busted GH guitar, just so I can say I've lobbed a plastic guitar into a volcano.

It's not promoting a concert, it's promoting Power Gig: Rise Of The Six-String, a video game. Same principle as Guitar Hero and Rock Band except it uses a controller that also functions as a real guitar.

...but yeah: seems like a pretty immature way to promote your product. If you've got that much equipment to waste, give it to people who could use it.
