Hi there. I'd like to see a good movie where people use swords to slice each other up. Can you recommend any?

If I recall correctly, there's a lot of graphic slicing off of limbs and other body parts in Kill Bill, particularly the finale of Volume 1, is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

I'm pretty sure there's a whole subgenre of Japanese samurai films involving loads of violence and slicing. But if you want a specific recommendation check out Takashi Miike's "13 Assassins."

Well, I think there's a Japanese film called Thirteen Assassins or something similar that has a looot of slicing in it. Slicing is actually one of the main plot points.

EDIT for ninjas: If I think of another one, I'll post it. There seems to be at least one on the edge of my memory. You could try Conan The Barbarian[footnote]The good one.[/footnote].

What JoJo said, the third act in Kill Bill Volume 1 will serves your needs very, very well.
Highly recommend that as well, seriously, that fight was glorious (goryious?).

13 Assassins was also pretty decent, its not non-stop cutting action though, the whole film is kinda one big buildup to a huge final fight and was oddly disturbing and nonsensical at parts. That final fight was darn good though.

Not a movie really but did you ever try out Metal Gear Rising? If there's one thing that truly defined slicing and dicing the hell out of everything, its Rising. Jedi Outcast with g_saberrealisticcombat 1 (allowing you to cut people to pieces with a lightsaber, and also get cut up if not careful) is also immensely satisfying.

The Japanese movie Azumi has some slicing in it althought I don't think it is enough for you.

I like it, but I've already seen it.

Ichi the Killer has a lot of slicing in it. It's also directed by Takashi Miike and it's notorious for being one of the most violent films ever made.

How about the first Highlander? The series also has some good swordplay.

The Darkness 2 has a lot of slicing in it. From throwing deadly fan blades to straight up cutting someone in half, then slicing that in half. It's pretty cheap too.

There's also the Steven Seagal film "Into the Sun", and this scene from "Out of Reach"

Oh yea, there's also a bit of swordage in "Against the Dark".

There's that one scene from the first Resident Evil movie, but it's not exactly swords...
Since somebody is probably gonna ask what you're talking about...

Also, Umbrella Corporation has technology that can make super death lasers like that, but can't hire competent security. Genius!
Remind's me of Roger Ebert's reflection on the scene.

"There is one neat effect when characters unwisely venture into a corridor and the door slams shut on them. Then a laser beam passes at head level, decapitating one. Another beam whizzes past at waist level, cutting the second in two while the others duck. A third laser pretends to be high but then switches to low, but the third character outsmarts it by jumping at the last minute. Then the fourth laser turns into a grid that dices its victim into pieces the size of a Big Mac. Since the grid is inescapable, what were the earlier lasers about? Does the corridor have a sense of humor?"

if you feel this need in relation to video games (I got no movies to recommend that haven't been already)

Metal Gear Rising.

you can reduce a full grown man to confetti, or go for precisely aim cuts and go for decapitation and dismemberment, ether way, it'll do you up right nice.
