Maybe this would be more suited to Warcry but I'm wondering about the next big MMO. I have no clue what it will be but I have ideas for my own. For example,a MMO set in the Gundam Universe would be fairly epic where players could commandeer their own mobile suits. Or a Pokemon MMO would be guaranteed to make money if done right. What about the rest of you? What would you like to see turned into a MMO or what features would you like your next MMO to have?

And yes the DDKRMMORPG is epic.

Real life style MMO with guns and stuff.
In my vision it would be like GTA 4 but MMO features and whatever.
I just can't explain what am thinking, its too massive :D

DDKR:

Or, Firefly. A Firefly MMO would be epic, and it would no doubt be the greatest one evr [/subliminal_messaging].

Actually, what about an MMO based on Lost? It could be set not just on the Island, but also in different locations around the world (Tunisia or Antarctica, for example, and fans will know what I'm getting at there), and you could play a character based on one of the different factions (survivor, Other, DHARMA Initiative, Mercenary, Widmore's people, etc...).

World of Starcraft?

Seriously, I'd love to play as a zerg hydralisk and spit on people all day.

Ok, that was more a joke than anything but it might be kind of cool to see the Starcraft world from that perspective. I am sure whatever Blizzard's next gen mmo ip is will be fun.

Ay up, it?s Hull! A dystopian mmo based in the mean streets of Hull, a once thriving city in the north of England, plunged into poverty by the lack of demand for manufactured goods.

Combat takes a sideline to implied violence; the real exp acquired through selling kinder eggs full of smack. Other mini games include throwing spanners out of cars at innocents, acquiring a guest spot on a day time T.V. show and stealing bags from old ladies, discovering later that you?re ill gotten gains are simply bags full of her dog?s leavings.

You'd have to set it in various cities around the world, or at least the US, but I think a Fallout MMO would be awesomely fun.

Or, maybe not an MMO, per se, but smaller, i.e. few hundred people per server, persistent world, kind of like Neverwinter Nights did (and I guess still does, I don't know, I haven't played the new one) with their online modules.

Also, Firefly.

a pokemon MMORPG would be pretty kool indeed...
I'm still on my high horse and trying to convert all non-believers that an Inquisitor MMORPG would be the best thing ever created... though the problem with that, as with anything attached to the brand, it's Warhammer 40K and people find it a bit too far into the realms of nerd-dom, rather than the happy dizzy world of geek-dom...

I'm agreeing that a well done Pokemon MMO would be the doll's balls and I'm interested to see what Bethesda would do with one... but the "next" is already here:

It's by the inde. dev. that's putting together that artsy Blueberry Garden game. Things get real interesting around level 50, real interesting. Though the chat can get worse than WoW sometime it's the community feel that really takes it to a new level.

Both of these x a billion

Space RPG's are old hat, but the Firefly universe is one that most gamers (and nerds who aren't gamers) hold dear. I'd play that fo' sho.

I don't know how well Lost would work, though. It'd be tough to keep it within canon while also making it good. Ever play Lost Via Domus? That game was terrible. Plus the writer's don't have time to work on a game plot, they need to start working on The Dark Tower!

Real time combat, focus on gameplay rather than spiffy graphics. Shadowbane like player controlled world and PVP orientation - fuck the carebears, you cannot make an MMO that caters to all crowds and I'd much rather have some gameplay where players effect the world rather than world in which the players hit mobs endlessly.
Decent AI, a good skill tree system, for fuck sake I hate stuff that allows you to buy extra points and thus gimping everyone with enough of a life to get out of the house and into the sunlight.

ok i have no idea what DDKR is?

but guessing by looking at whats coming out or in progress, CCP's collaboration with White Wolf making World of Darkness online. Set in the current world with vampires, werewolves and mages, using guns and stuff. Using CCP's latest software which looks immaculate:

in a similar way, Funcom are working on a Cuthulu game. artwork so far looks awesome, but its Funcom, and anyone who trusts them to release a working game is just lying to themselves.

Would love to see the new starwars MMO go well but i dont think it will. Grinding with a lightsaber is still going to be grinding.

i would love to see a real MMO version of The World (ie .hack//)
or a Transmetropolitan MMO, not sure how that would work, not everyone can be spider jerusalem... but it would a be a cool starting point.

My dream, where I was trapped in a mystery/horror MMO that played something like a cross between Silent Hill/ Shadow of the Colosus. Weird dream.

A Firefly MMO would probably be the only MMO i would even consider paying for.

I think that as far as MMORPGs go, most of the fun stuff has been done already. I mean you could make one were every one is a zombie and you have to run around trying to find living people to kill for experience. See low level victims would have box cutters, were higher level ones would have chain saws or boom sticks.
