If AAA games were released in digital formats at lower prices than physical copies...

Nah, I usually buy most AAA games months after release, so by then a used physical copy will likely be cheaper than a digital one.

Not if I can't resell it, etc. and not if it's still Australian prices. If they released a digital copy for $30 on launch or something, I might buy it, considering new games are $110 at the moment and I often settle for $40 from overseas, a physical copy.

$10 is not enough of a discount. At that rate, I'm fully willing to pay an extra $10 to have something to hold. It has to be dirt cheap, like max $10 for a new game, or a full collection of games for me to prefer digital over physical and never look back.

I much prefer digital games to physical games.
No accidental damage or loss. Doesn't take up any space. Is more convenient to purchase than going to the shops.

The only reason I'd choose to buy physical over digital is if the physical is cheaper (at least $10) and I've got time to kill, or if there's a genuinely cool collectors edition with physical stuff (not that there's really many of those).

Admittedly I don't really sell games I've purchased. I still get pretty good use out of most of my games, and the few times I have sold games, there's always been points down the line that I've regretted it.

I would, if they were cheaper. I don't generally resell my games unless they are terrible, but PS+ and the ability to have a timed demo have really cut back on the amount of terrible games I buy. I do buy used games sometimes, and I wouldn't like to see them disappear... I'm still buying used PS2 games that aren't available anywhere else now.

Honestly, $10 off isn't going to be enough for me to buy a $60 AAA game anyway. It would have to be $30 off at a minimum, and that's only for titles I really want to play. Otherwise, I absolutely refuse to go above $20 for any game, period. I have a big enough game library, with enough replayability, that I really don't miss not having the latest big name game at all.

But that's too get me to buy at launch. If a physical copy and a digital copy both have the same cost (including shipping for the physical, if applicable; I don't really go to game shops anymore), I'd get the physical copy. I mainly get digital because that criteria is rarely met.

Yes I would switch to mostly digital if the price was right. Unfortunately both Sony and Microsoft are retarded in this regard. Often pricing the digital versions as more expensive than physical.
