If all gaming systems were going to be destroyed and you could only save one, why wouldn't you save computers!?
Imagine a world without them, we'd be screwed!
Plus, we can just re-engineer consoles again from the PC base, like the first time around.
If we counted the computer, then we'd also have to count the mobile phone, the TV, and so on. A console is really a device designed primarily for gaming, something that I highly doubt anyone could say was the computers purpose.
True; although, the OP says further up somewhere that PCs and even DVD players are included.

The reason for PC though is that most things can be reverse engineered from PC components. TVs are easy to do.

Although they aren't dedicated, they can do it, and they are the most beneficial overall to keep.

I'd say 360, as long as it keeps updating its backwards compatibility.
Plus eventhough all the other consoles will be doomed, I bet everyone would start making ports to the console you saved, so basically it comes down to performance and how good the controller feels.

I'm assuming PC gaming will be excluded from this? After all we're talking consoles here.

Xbox 360. It has MY most favourite lineup of games than any other console.

I wont say PC since it isnt a console.

Definately my PC! you can get so many games on it old and new, pretty much any game you can get on consoles you can get on your PC (besides the Wii that i know of). Also you can upgrade it with different features and stuff to make it awesome..

I'd have to say a good old fashioned Sega master system... they don't make games anymore and mine still works. I couldn't get by without it!

oooh, hard question. either the gamecube or the 360. the wii has some great games but there aren't enough to warrant it saving over the cube which has a lot of great games. the 360 has some great games and, though i don't have one, i wouldn't like to see them disappear.
But the Wii can play Gamecube games! Surely we get to keep those games too! And Virtual Console, maybe.

If Virtual Console and Gamecube games aren't destroyed as well, then Wii, no contest. If not, probably Gamecube.
if the gamecube games stay then yes, the wii would be the better choice but as he said whatever console goes, the games do too, if the gamecube goes then all gamecube games go too

well assuming every other console went kaputz, all the games would be stuffed onto whatever's left. so my vote goes to the most versatile of them, the PC. then we COULD still see all the same stuff, just in different forms.

among the actual consoles? I dunno. the Wii is crap, but mostly because it has competition with better hardware. if the others were wiped out I'd prefer to play games made to be fun rather than made to look good. however, nintendo's been rather iffy lately so I don't know if I trust them to keep it going.

the PS3 would also probably be good if the others were gone, but I think I'd prefer the 360 of the two, just because they offer better services (even if you DO have to pay for them) and I can be sure that M$ would do whatever it takes to do the best job and make the most money possible (while cutting every corner possible, of course, but hey, it's M$).

anyway, that's my opinion and my reasoning. feel free to flame all you like.

If I saved a console that had backwards compatibility then would the older games be saved too? If that is the case then PC by miles, emulation!

I would save the PS2 of course.

If I would count the PC as a console I would save it but for me it's not a console.

I would save the PS3, I'd rather play the 360 but I couldn't let something like the PS3 just die, even if I don't really like most of its games.
Huh?
