actually there is a rather interesting fiction book called Dies the fire which deals with this issue almost exactly defiantly a pretty interesting read

well I would go try to survive in the woods and get away from the inevitable panic where everyone else starts tearing each other apart out of madness.nova18 said:90 percent of the world would spiral into chaos.
And 10 percent of the world will still be living in mud and foraging for food.
I would set off on an epic adventure to create a cycle-powered generator and a ps3.
Admittedly it would be a hassle waiting for everyone to get online if I was the only person with a console.
The Ludites weren't anti-technology they were a collection of people who were rebelling against being forced to change how they worked and lived. They used to be single enterprise workers who sold there goods or services as an when they saw fit. They rebelled against being forced into factories with severely less rights and benefits. It was more about being forced to work for the benefits of a factory owner than to take care of themselves and their families. Destroying factory machinery was just a by-product of reacting against what they saw as being forced into slavery or starvation.RAKtheUndead said:Depends on just how far back you went in terms of removal of technology. Most of the world's population would die very quickly, that's for sure - some of them the Luddites that say that we would get along better without technology (I absolutely despise and loathe Luddism. It disgusts me.)

Yea I agree. Not living in a city has it's advantages, spending time out in the bush, camping, being in the cadets or scouts or whatever the hell people choose to be in, helps you develop survival skills. I have basic survival skills, like getting fresh water, I mean there's so many different methods, or how about hunting, you don't need a weapon, you can just design a holding, pit or snare trap to catch what you want to eat. Starting your own fire, wow I know it's a hard concept for some people but you don't need a damn lighter or match but it can be done.Corpse XxX said:I think i would manage just fine, im not from the city and do know how to take care of myself..
