If consoles were actually people, what kind of people would they be?

PC - No matter what countermeasures you employ, it adapts. It already assimilated everyone except the biggest players and everyone knows this day will also come. Resistance is futile DRM. PC is Borg.

Master race of gaming.

consoles would be dicks simple as that the'd have over inflated egos and narcissism from all the fanboy worship
How does this not describe the PC of all things?
Contrary to popular belief console people are just as bad if not worse than PC people so yeah just look what happened to this site over MW2 and its easy to see this PC elitist thing is actually a load of shit.
Wow, seriously? If anything, it's the exact opposite. PC gamers seem to think they have exclusive rights to things (dedicated servers, obviously) and that they should be treated like royalty compared to the console gamers that don't deserve shit. This is, of corse, apart of their elitist belief that games are universally better on PC than consoles, which doesn't really mean shit when assembling a PC that can run these games is so much more expensive.

So let me get this straight: I'm a fool for not paying several $100 more and taking weeks out of my time to not only find and buy the proper hardware, but learn how to install it just to partake in a hobby which might be an even bigger waste of time and money if the game developers decide I, who already paid money to play their game, would be less likely to steal it if they made theft the only practical way to play it at all?

Regardles of what you preach, there are PC gamers who think like this.
Yes seriously and I will acknowledge some PC gamers are like this but this is not the majority this is a vocal minority like most groups take console tards for example and the whining 12 year old kids these people give things in general a bad name. Why yes we do have rights to dedicated servers and so does everything else on the planet that is a games system that is internet as P2P is and always will be a load of shit. So how about we drop vibrating support for 360 since it isn't standard in PS3 or drop motion control for Wii because it isn't standard in 360 does that seem alright with you since they obviously don't have the right to something their system can run.

Actually while initial set up costs are higher it is overall less money to money to have a PC there after with deals from things like Steam which I bought roughly 35 for 4euro each of Christmas including many mainstream titles. So no overall it is not more expensive to have PC when you take in all costs. Yes if you can run it at top specs yes it is better than console versions graphics wise. Although yes these bargains do they take time to find and so does hardware but if you are willing to stick it out it is worth it for things such as mods.

I don't really see what you mean by your third point about Devs but I am assuming you are going for DRM. Yes DRM is a kick in the teeth but you know what if you don't like it you shouldn't pirate it play it on something else or don't play it at all. The only really bad DRMs recently are Ubisoft's and Securom the latter of which has thankfully been mostly neutered and is not employed by many companies. The more popular DRMs such as Steam are fine and are actually good just because there a few piles of shit doesn't mean they all are.

So to put you straight your not an idiot for buying consoles with less initial costs but more expensive games equaling out costs in the end. In fact I don't think your an idiot at all I have a 360. Consoles are good for different things. I do however think you are a bit of an idiot for judging a group based on a small sub-group within it and a bit misinformed on number side of costs however.

We even have access to all consoles up to the Wii all we need now is to be able to emulate PS3 and 360.

Old school time!

The Atari 2600 would be a WW2 soldier: Few left working and most of it's accessories relegated to museum pieces but damn it likes to tell you stories.

The Gameboy B&W and Colour would be an old married couple: Rarely leave the house, even rarer are visited by their children but always have a nice warm pie ready for you to enjoy.

I can't think of one for the Playstation One...

The PC is Hugh Hefner because no matter how old yours get you can always upgrade it so it play with the sexy new games...all-be-it you have to wait along time for anything to happen...and hope it doesn't die whilst fun is being had. ;)
